Ok, got a question...how much protection do these "Ultimate Bars" offer in case of say a front end collision? How much impact can these bars take and up to what speeds will these protect you and yours?

My guess would be that they offer very little or no added protection at all. I just like the way the look.

One more question, It sounds like this thing replaced your tow hooks. If that is true, can I use the bar as a tow hook if needed?

I would not recommend it using the bar as a replacement for the tow hook.

Not a Bull bar, but...

Saw this on the Waag site - not a bull bar, not a grill gaurd, but offers a different look for those who may be interested. Its called a Frontrunner, basically a bumper gaurd. I'm a bit curious - I'm gonna wait till they post pics installed on an 04.

I'm intersted because it doesnt interfere with the awesome look of my Lariat front end. But, it doesnt serve the front end protection features of the grill guard or bull bar, but would be effective at protecting the insurance deductable for low speed impacts to replace the $4-500? bumper... plus, it kinda looks good, huh?

Not sure if this link will work, go to www.waag.com if it doesnt.

Well, I just ordered the polished stainless steel Ultimate Bull Bar with skid plate, the lisence plate relocator kit, and two 6" KC Fog 100w Fog lights from www.premiermotoring.net I will definately post some pics when the stuff gets installed.

In the picture of the blue Pro-Comp truck, does anyone know who makes the bumper bar?

yeah, that's my concern with bull bars. i really like the look of the Westin Ultimate with lights, but I can't sacrifice my tow hooks for looks. getting stuck while 4 wheelin' can require the tow hooks to be used to get out, depending on how you get stuck. are there any other ways to mount lights on the front without losing the tow hooks? i don't want them on the roof either, they gotta be on the front. lights are real helpful in the desert at night. stock lights, even with highbeams, don't have much juice in the wilderness. any thoughts?

And regarding my question in my prior post. I have sent an email to ProComp asking about the light bar.

thanks for the idea deep6blue. i have lariat so there's not that much space in the grill area. i might try to put some in the lower grill area what is mostly open. i'd have to find the right size lights. i think i will let this idea sit on the back burner since i have other mods i am waiting to do first. lights will come way later. probably after i am out in the desert frustrated that i don't have enough light. hehe. thanks again.

There are many ugly A$$ grill guards out there. Not on my truck. It is just too much.
