Smile Pics of Black/Az. Beige Lariat SCrew

Hi all,

I picked up my 2004 Lariat SuperCrew last Thursday and finally took some pics today (after polishing over the weekend, of course). I really liked the 1997 XLT SCab (Silver) that I traded for this one, but the new truck is better in so many ways. I love it.

I also added the first mod today - a Ford Hood Deflector (purchased from the dealer for $59.99). I wasn't sure how the "smoke" color would look, but it saw it was great when I held it up to the truck. [My other choice would have been a Bugflector II painted to match the black.]

I also ordered a Retrax tonneau cover today (1 week for delivery).
I called Bedrug today also, they said it's going to be up to another 4 weeks before Bedrug is available for 2004 SuperCrews.

Let me know what you think.

John

Looks sharp, but I have 1 problem with it.

I paid $70. for the same bug guard. Supposed to be at the employee cost also

Oh well, it's paid for & installed.

Sharp truck, you will love the retrax, I just installed mine over the weekend.

See gallery for pics.

whitesnake2001 - errr ummm, maybe they sold it to me below cost.. ...actually, the only reason I put the cost in is because I couldn't believe how good it was...It is certainly worth the $70 you paid (and I would have paid it if the dealer asked for it). Anyhow, they look good on both our trucks

Your gallery looks great. Good job on the picture of the Retrax from inside the bed.

Do you think I'll have any problems installing the Bedrug AFTER the Retrax? I'll hate to have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to install my Retrax after it comes in next week, but I don't want to install, uninstall, reinstall....

Thanks,
John

Bed Rug?

JohnandDar: I was told by a local dealership here in AZ that the Bedrugs were not out yet for the '04 Screws and wouldn't be until mid to late November. Reading your reply leads me to believe you have it or soon will. Is that the case? By the way, you're truck is drop dead georgeous!! I had a product called Xpel put on all the front painted painted surfaces of my truck ('04 Lariat wedgewood blue/az beige) last week (upper and lower bumper and the first 18" of the hood). This film is sold under several different names, but it kind of an invisible bra. Guaranteed against yellowing or tears for 4 years. I read some good report on the boards about it and decided to give it a try. You have to be pretty much right on top of it to see it. Anyway, in order to keep your beauty looking as good as it is now, you might consider it. The guy that installed mine said in his four years of applying it, he'd never seen one "chip through". Sure, some came back beat up, but the paint underneath didn't chip and it can be taken off, cleaned of the adhesive and will look good as new when you get ready to sell it............if you ever do. Not trying to sell you, just let you know it's out there. Take care

John,

Sorry to say but you probably would be better off to install the bedrug with the retrax out. It really won't be a big deal, just take the 4 clamps off & lift it out of the bed. It would be easiest with 2 people, but can be done with 1. I would think the cannister would be in the way.

I agree, I was happy with the $70 because I think it retails for $79 + tax. I got it for $70 out the door, installed it myself.

Thanks for the compliments.

Rob

WedgewoodScrew - Sorry if I wasn't clear. I had trouble finding a Bedrug available, so I called them directly today and they confirmed they won't be shipping them for supercrews for another 3 to 4 weeks (most likely 4 ). I should be receiving my Retrax next week, so my dilemma (these problems I can live with) is whether I wait until I receive and install the Bedrug before installing the Retrax or not.

I've read the other threads about Xpel and invinca shield. I am interested. I'm going to have to go back and check the web sites again...I don't think that there were any installers very close by. Now that I've got the truck, I think it's a good idea, espcially with the painted bumper. I'm going to be neurotic trying to keep the truck in "new" condition.

Thanks,
John
