Visteon called me back and I was told they could not give me any information about where the input was, it must be top secret. I was referred to a local factory authorized car audio sales and service center, Speed-O-Tach of Concord, CA. I am now waiting for them to get back to me on what options exist. I will post any updates when I get them.

MP3
I GOT THE AUDIOPHILE SYSTEM. IF YOU LOOK AT THE PANEL (DISPLAY) YOU CAN SEE THE MP3 LABEL ON IT, BUT I KNOW IT DOSEN'T PLAY MP3. IS THERE ANY WAY THE FIRMWAY (SOFTWARE) ON THE RADIO CAN BE UPDATED TO PLAY MP3? WHAT OTHER SUGGESTIONS DO YOU GUYS HAVE?

if you threaten them with your "plastic boner" they might be more cooperative...
I have been looking at the Neo Car Jukebox MP3 players and have found they are sharing the type of info that might help you track down what you are after. They sell the boxes as well as auxillary input adapters. I did not see anything for the 2004 Ford listed, but I did not contact them, or research the forums they have there.

Another Aux input link
Does anyone know what the size of the aux input is?

Red - Can you take some close ups of the cable ends and jacks for all radio connectors? What you have is okay but they need to see as much detaisl in the cable colors and jacks as possible.
Please post them and I will have Soundgate take a look and see if their FORD AUX input interface can be adapted to work with the new head unit.
If any can do same pictures for Audiophile head unit great, we can get that rolling as well.
Hardwired MP3 jukebox (or better yet iPod Dock custom installed) in your 150 would ROCK

And you can hook it to the stereo or PC through a USB port.

No knock against PC's (I use one) but the iPod is 1/10 the size of that unit. My iPod works great with Windows XP and the design and interface for the iPod and iTunes are brilliant.
Whatever your hardware choice getting a line level hardwired input into the Audiophile and standard 6 disk head unit is very key to getting good sound. We all would like this.
I hope we can get some detailed pictures of connectors and jacks posted here so Joe @ Soundgate can take a look and see if something can be made to work well.
I looked at an 04 Lariat Screw ashtray today and it is actually designed so that the insert for the ashray pulls out and leaves a larger storage bin in its place. I think it should be pretty straightforward to mount the iPod dock into the ashtray and hardwire from that point for a super clean install. You will need to get dock angle correct to align iPod with dash but should be doable.
That way when you want iPod in the 150 you just pop open storage tray and drop in your iPod and hit AUX on the head unit.

red04 - If you sussessfully put in COMMAND system in 04 150 let me know. I'd be ready to do it too.
I also think the Volvo pop up dvd nav system is very cool and if you could install it to come up just at the front edge of the "no skid" rubber bin on the top center of Lariat dash it would be sweet.
Either of these systems (and bits to install) seem hard to find to buy.
