How do you like your 04....REALLY?
With the exception of the tail lights that weren't working when I picked up my truck, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I love the comfort, quiet and roominess of the cabin, the abundant storage space for small items, the audiophile sound system and the overall fit and finish. I don't get as stressed when I'm stuck in traffic because the cabin is so comfortable. I've checked the whole truck stem to stern and haven't discovered any paint blemishes. The power just sneaks up on me and I find myself going 20 mph over the speed limit without even realizing it. I love the reverse sensing system and can't imagine doing without it. Ironically, if I had ordered my truck instead of purchasing from dealer stock, I probably wouldn't have added it as an option.
My only minor complaint - the change holder is awkward to access in the center console due to hitting my elbow on the raised lid. I'm 6'3" and I have to contort my arm to get to the change for toll booths etc. Also, I wish the steering wheel would tilt up just one more notch but it's not a show stopper. I haven't had any problems with hitting my knee on the center console.

I was at my dealer this week and asked about why the 150's are sitting so long on the lot? He told me the stock orders are sitting, most people they sold trucks to are ordering and waiting to get exactly what they want, prolly typical of the crowd that buys very early... Can you blame them, they are dropping big loot with no incentives to speak of and standard interest rates..
I have only one complaint about my new F-150, which is very minor.
When you set the cruise control, it doesn't "hold" the pedal down, so to release cruise and maintain the same speed you have to "re-find" that speed with your foot, whereas my 2002 ranger would "hold" the pedal in place.
I'm sure I'll get used to that though.
Only other thing I've had to get used to is not being embarrassed to ask anyone to sit in the rear seat, as it is definitely large enough...

I've only had mine since this past Saturday (Nov 15), and I love it!! Much improved quietness in the cab by far over my 2001 SCrew. Audiophile sound is great - no more messing around with aftermarket stereo stuff for me. Being a relatively new dad, I don't have time for that any more. The handling is excellent, and the power is there when I need it. I have no complaints about my '04 whatsoever! See pics by clicking the "My Gallery" link in my signature.
The leather seats in the Lariat 4x4, are a zillions time more supportive then in the new Tundra Double Cab. In the Tundra they are so small an squishy, you sink right to the floor! When you stop the Tundra, you end up in the floor, particularly the non-adjustable passenger seat! I am 6' and 190#
The bottom seat cushions could be about 1 inch deeper in the Ford, it would make it more comfy.

I have been driving my 04 Screw XLT for 10 days. I love this truck. I previously drove a 94 Bronco Eddie Bauer. I had a seat cover for the bronco, so the cloth seats in my screw are great.
I had a little trouble with my alignment but for some reason it went away on its own. I do find myself breaking the speed limit without realizing it. And the quiet ride compared to my Bronco made it well worth the purchase. The only thing that bothers me is I don't have running boards or a drop hitch. And I opted for the smaller engine, so we'll see how towing the boat goes during the summer. I suppose I'll find some better aftermarket running boards and the drop hitch is no problem. Oh and the dealer game me nothing for my trade-in, I should've brought someone with me. Oh well.

just picked mine up tonight, with a huge 55 miles on it, it is the best truck i have owned ever. the ride is amazing, and its so quiet inside. the only complaints are the back seats should fold all the way down and the fuel cut off switch location is a joke. but those are some very very minor complaints. this truck is simply the best, its hard for me to get out of it and stop driving. i love it!

Best truck I have ever owned. Traded in my 2001 Scab, got a very good deal and trade-in. I was looking at the XLT, but said, "what the hecc", i owe it to myself and my wife agreed, so I went for the Lariat. Best descision, I love the leather seats and the console, and the ride is so smooth.
I have to be careful on the exhaust, cause I had the Flowmaster 40sand there was too much cab drone, so I want a quieter exhaust system,

Like much of you, I too love my new truck and find myself looking for a reason to go somewhere just so I can drive it.
However, I do have complaints:
Weight - This truck is way to heavy. I think if Ford could trim a little bit off of the overal weight, then the truck would perform better, have improved fuel economy, and of course the handling would be even better than it is.
Engine - I have a 4.6L and to be compeletly honest, it just doesn't belong in a truck of this size. At the very LEAST, they should offer the 5.4L in EVERY trim line available. This engine (4.6L) should be used in the new Ranger.
Stance - I think it is kind of ridiculous that you have to go out and spend $85 on drop shackles to level a brand new vehicle. There is no need to have the rearend 2.5" higher.
Don't get me wrong, If I had it to do over again...I would still get a new 04 F-150....well, actually I would get the 05 F-150 now. hehehe FORD ALL THE WAY!!!
