How do you like your 04....REALLY?
OK Guys, all BS aside. I know there is plenty to cmplain about any vehicle. At the end of the day....what do you think of the 04 f150? Will it be another hit? Hows that new 5.4? Are the seats comfy? Is it as quite as the say? Does it ride nice on the highway? Does it take the bumps ok (dare we say "offroad") Can it handle a load? Are you happy with the choice you made??????
I absolutely love the 04. Best truck I have ever owned. I have yet to take a heavy load or tow the boat, but am confident it will perform like a champ. It is an unbelievable vehicle, and am excited every time I drive it
I am in love with my 04. It is by far the best pick up I have ever owned. I still find myself staring at it any time that I am around it. It rides great and has plenty of power. I have now beat every Chevy in my neighborhood, they are all jealous now. I am not disappointed in the least with my purchase.
just picked mine up tonight, with a huge 55 miles on it, it is the best truck i have owned ever. the ride is amazing, and its so quiet inside. the only complaints are the back seats should fold all the way down and the fuel cut off switch location is a joke. but those are some very very minor complaints. this truck is simply the best, its hard for me to get out of it and stop driving. i love it!
I can say without any reservation that this is the best truck out there. Not only is it better but way better. Even with all the recent rebates on the 03 the 04 is a much better value. You may pay a little more but it is worth it. I'm not sure what I would have done if Ford hadn't redsigned the 04. I sure wouldn't have bought an 03. Anyway I can't find to many flaws with mine except that I do think the tan interior is a bit on the light side. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful but it will be a pain keeping it clean. Yes, it is that quiet and so smooth. One of the best things about it is that it handles so well. I test drove several other trucks and the 04 is just so far advanced in this area.
O.K. one other thing. I really wish that Ford had done something different with the radio and EATC display. It seems a little behind in technology. My wifes Accord has all the radio and A/C displayed on one screen. The screen about 2"x5" and it just really adds alot of appeal to the interior.

Anyway, where is the fuel cutoff switch that makes it such a pain ... eeerrrr.... joke as you put it ????
I got the FX4 Screw and my biggest concern was being able to drive it around town without much trouble. All I can say is it's NO PROBLEM. The truck is awesome. It handles great, it's fast, and extremely smooth and quiet on the highway. I've said it before, If I was a millionaire I still think I'd have this truck as my daily driver! I seriously can't think of a more practical vehicle.

I hear ya...mine has a 10/22 produced date and no gate release or ship date yet either. Why are they holding our trucks back after there built? I sent an email to ford customer service tonight, so I will see what there answer is..hope its good.
The only negitive I have had so far is that the seats are unconfortable i.e. leather trim buckets with console. Now that being said, this is a huge complaint, you sit in that seat every time you drive. I put out a post awile back on this subject with very little response. I have a hard time believing I'm the only one that has thought this or felt this I should say. The truck is a great truck don't get me wrong here guys, I've had (4) Ford trucks over the past 25 years. Maybe the seat will I hope go through a break-in period and become more confortable as I go on through the years. Let's really be honest here folks, after all it is just a truck... Boy oh Boy will I catch hell for that remark.
carpenter,
Let me be the first NOT to jump all over you. I haven't taken delivery of my truck yet, but I did notice the seat bottoms on the many trucks I've been in feeling somewhat flat and certainly not overstuffed with padding.
Back in June, while pumping gas at a station near Richmond, a whole convoy (7 or 8) of '04's pulled in. They were being tested by a group of journalists. I poked around an FX4 with the captains chairs and noticed the seat felt a bit unsupportive. I asked the driver, who had put a couple of hundred miles on it that day, what he thought. He agreed and said that "Ford was aware of the problem and was working on a fix". Since nobody else seems to be complaining, maybe Ford has made some changes.
