How many F150's do you seen on the road everyday?

Think about it. The truck has only been out for barely 2 months, and so there are only around 50,000 of them on the road in the entire United States, so of course your not going to see many of them driving around. The new Dodge and Chevy's have been on the road for the past few YEARS.
Remember when you read in the paper that Ford sold 85,000 or so F-Series in September that roughly 35 % are Heritage, 35% are F250-F750, and 30% are the new 04's.
It has also been reported that over 50-60% of the buyers are getting the top of the line FX4's and Lariat's. Most of the trucks on the lots are XL's and XLT's. There is nothing wrong with those models, but people can still get an 03 or Heritage Larait for the same price after rebates/financing. Two of my friends recently got loaded 03 Lariat Supercrews- both were looking at 04 XLT's, and both actually liked the older styling better. Myself, I had a 97 so I'm holding out for something new, and something with better ride, handling and braking. Plus I personally think the 04's look better.
Dealers are just starting to build their inventories. If your going to sell 1 million trucks a year you have better have a large inventory.
If dealers aren't selling, then they aren't very good sales people. I understand that there are well over 100,000 orders for the new 04's - so someones buying them.

Here in San Diego, I think it is safe to assume that 4-6 brand new 2004 Dodge Rams are sold for every 2 brand new 2004 GMC's, and 1 brand new 2004 Ford F150.
Or at least, that's the way it looks.

I've checked 5 local dealers inventories the past 6 weeks ...only one truck sold...So are we worried yet Ford ? better offer some rebates or this may be the year Chevy outsells Ford. Personally I 'm waiting for the rebates as I don't own one of those high dollar homes I see next to you early buyers trucks.
