Tailgate Assist ?
Just where inside the tailgate is the torsion bar and related gear.
I am thinking about installing a Tailgate Storage System that has to be screwed into the tailgate and I am concerned about clearance. Thanks

You can see it through the holes at the base of the tail gate

you can see it on the left side of the tailgate. i don't know if there is a gear system to all of this.
