Post Questions on Overhead Console

Hello All - just purchased my new 04 Lariat Scab and joined the group! Will pick it up Sunday. I have a few questions:

(1) does anyone know if/where you can purchase aftermarket bins / accessories for the console (besides the dealer)

(2) Is the overhead rail system powered, so one wouldn't have to run power cables to things such as the DVD system?

(3) When will the DVD system come out?

Thanks for all your help - looking forward to the truck!

1) Don't know right now, but I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket sellers available.

2) Yes, it is powered. It has to be in order for the DVD system to work.

3) It is available now apparently. If you go through the "Build Your Ford" thing at the Ford web site, it is listed as an option.

Is there any reason you couldnt put the DVD system in the SCab? The ford website only has it as an option for the SCrew (I assume for safety's sake)

You can get the rail system in an SCab, right?? If so, I don't see any reason for not being able to put it in there.

yes, the rail system comes in the Scab. as far as power goes, i don't believe the rail system has power, but there is a power connection available in the roof right behind the rail system. not sure what you have to do to get to it though.

Not sure where I heard this, but I believe there is power on the rail itself. One side is positive and the other negative.

I think it was the dealer who said this. One check with a multimeter would tell for sure.
