Lightbulb Extended ESP Warranties

Has anyone ever dealt with....

www.fordwarrantys.com

They are a Ford dealer from CT that sells Ford ESP warranties online at quite a savings over what my local dealer is charging and I mean alot of savings.........however it took me awhile to convince my dealer that this was a legit offer as he is adamant in his opinion that Ford warranties bought online are not valid........and this opinion was reinforced whan I showed him the price difference. He says anyone can make a Web page.

Thanx

Greg

Your dealer is trying to save or make an ESP sale. The site provided by you is a Ford dealership and sells the same thing as your dealer sells. As stated by another poster, I would also check XCR for his price. For all the help he has given us we shoudl give something back - I was going to but my dealer caved in and sold me my plan at his cost plus $5.00 (five) dollars. I certainly understand that this is the exception and not a general expectation.

Reasonably priced?

XCR440SP what would be a reasonable price to pay for a ESP Premium plan say 6 years / 100,000 miles

Assuming 2004 F-150 4x4 non commercial use, we sell PremiumCare 6 yrs 100K miles $50 deductable $1685. If you drop back to 6yrs/75K mile it falls to $1125

Another option would be ExtraCare 6/100 ($50 deduct) for $1280

why did he do that ScrewDriver? i mean, that seems like such an unbelievable deal that there is nothing in it for the dealer. are you 6'7" and 300lbs with tats up and down your arms and blood dripping from your mouth? did you beat it out of your dealer?

and if his cost is $5, how the hell can they get away with selling them for a thousand bucks or more? XCR440SP, care to enlighten us/me?

XCR440SP,

Please Expound on what Ford means by "Commerical" the ESP website is kinda vague.

I use my vehicle "commerically" to visit site locations. As a result, I do travel a lot (30K to 35K per year). However, I only carry about 300 lbs of tools (total) so I'm not abusing the truck. Does Ford still consider this a "commerical" application.

If you register the truck to your business your automatically in the commercial plan. Otherwise its up to you to disclose. In your case (unless titled in business name) you should be fine under personal use. If you let everyone at your buisness use your truck for deliverys, etc, then your supposed to be in the commercial column.

I understand completely. Under that definition it is not a "commerial" vehicle. It is (will be) titled to me and only used as my personal transportion assoicated with my job and otherwise.

Thanks

BrewMaster:

My dealer did not sell me my ESP plan for 5 dollars, he sold it to me for his cost plus 5 dollars and I was looking at his book so I knew what his cost was. I had attractive pricing from the Ford dealerships that sell ESPs on the internet and I had a good quote from XCR. I was going to purchase from XCR but I could not turn down what was offered me. Why did they do it? Because they know I will continue to purchase vehicles from them every three years of so as long as they give me a fair price and I will recommend them to others as well. This I have certainly done and it has resulted in sales for them. This is the second F150 I have purchased from this dealership and I purchased both at invoice and both from the Fleet / Lease guys. They also threw in tinting the front windows and a Ford bed liner. Naturally, I wanted more like part of the hold back and waiving the advertising charges but they would not do that – but I did try. However, I got the ESP for basically cost and a four oil & filter changes. I did not trade anything in so there were no games on that side of it either. On this board I recall folks stating that they got their 04s for under invoice…. Those are the folks I envy.

In the Dallas/Ft.Worth area competition between Ford dealers is high and I suspect they have all resigned themselves to the fact that they have to depend on volume and not a huge profit per vehicle. However, they are not stupid and if someone walks in that they feel they can make money on coming and going on the deal they certainly will. I am just not that person.

No plan pricing on ESP's, everyones the same A/X/Z/D or normal customer.

Yes pricing is negotiable. I don't negotiate on mine I just offer it take it or leave it, but many dealers start at MSRP and if offered something may take it. I prefer to sell it for what I have to have for it (MSRP is rediculous) and make things easier for everyone. For those interested in comparing MSRP 6/100 Premiumcare $50 deductable $2285 (versus my $1685) 6/75 $1710 (versus $1125) and ExtraCare 6/100 $1880 (vs $1280)
