Slow throttle responce?

Has anyone noticed a difference in their throttle response after engine has been broken in?

My friend just bought a chevy w/ a 4.8L V-8 and I find it gets up quicker than my 04' 5.4L V-8.

I'm afraid that's going to be the case. This engine wasn't meant to be a stoplight drag racer.

The slower throttle response is due to the new non-mechanical, "fly-by-wire" system. The computer controls the amount of fuel to provide. Too bad no one ever told the chip about pulling out quick. There is no direct mechanical connection from the gas pedal to the throttle body. Just a wire that measures resistance as the pedal is depressed. I have the same problem with my Wife's Audi. They said it would mean reworking the software.

Have nearly 400 miles on my FX4 and haven't noticed any difference in throttle response compared to traditional throttle.

I honestly don't feel any hesitation either. I'll line up against that Chevy any day! I'm often sqeeling the tires when taking off, and its a limited slip rear end.. It does have a pretty high stall speed torque converter I think but that's not associated with engine response. Maybe you should take it in to the dealer??

It have felt the same slow throttle response..This truck is not a dragster but I didnt buy it for that. It gives the feeling that the truck is heavier then it is but then again it sure is a damn nice heavy truck.
