Guigster,

To further rain on your parade, ordered Screw two-tone on 7/12 (Basically at the start of production) Recieved my VIN the last full week of September. The truck was built starting on Monday and has yet to ship as of yesterday.

Also,
Screwbuilder commited in late July/ early August that 60,000 had been pre-ordered. He commited in yhe last two weeks that there were 70,000 orders outstanding.

You've heard of WWW as the World Wide Wait, welcome to the FSWW the Ford Screw Wide Wait.

Well, my order is officially listed as: Unscheduled/Clean. Don't know what clean means, but I assume it's better than dirty. I may just take a break from this site for a couple days. It's getting depressing. I need to focus my attention on something else so I can stop thinking about it. I'm most definately looking at November now.

Clean means no holds, truck can be built. If you had an option that wasn't currently available it would be in Material HOld instead of clean.

dealer called me

The manager of the dealer called me today. He said the problem was the chrome tub running boards and he was not sure when that is going to be ready. He also said they would not set the build date unless the parts are ready. I guess this is Material Hold?? He said there were a few other scab and one other screw that is on hold due to the chrome board not being available.

I would say...whatever. I will wait til Nov so just send me the perfect truck OK!!??

I said mine was "Clean." Redstorm didn't specify.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a web-site out there where the average Joe could punch in his own information and check his truck's status on his own? It wouldn't have to be a site where anyone can make changes. Just an informational purposes only site.

Then we'd be happy because we'd know status. And the dealer would be happy because we wouldn't bug the ***** out of them with constant calls for updates.

Professionally

that is called Customer Relations Management (CRM) but
Ford does not have a clue.

aka Expectation Management would suggest that Ford shold have told that my truck (built 7/17) would get to me by Christmas rather than a provided ETA with a real delivery of 9/10.

I think instead of CRM, Ford uses POTC (Pi$$ Off The Customer).

Don't blame Ford for this, blame the dealer. Blame Ford for the stupid stuff like not making enough two-tone or not offering Gray Lariats, but the dealer should know comodites and at least warn you it may take a while to get (often we can't say exactly how long, but we can give a warning of that). As to not calling back that again I blame that dealer. I'd recomend answering surveys from Ford accordingly. The surveys have more of a effect now as allocation for the 2005 Ford GT will be based on winning the presidents award. This award is based on survey responses.

Oh, I know. There's plenty of blame to go around for different things. It's just where to allocate it.

However, no blame should be directed towards you, Screwbuilder, BigMacFX4 or Lightningkid. You guys are the exceptions to the rule.

Thank God I didn't order 2-tone or running boards. I can't stand driving my 97' Nissan "Hardbody" for too many more days. I'm having dreams about passenger side mirrors, air conditioning, and keyless entry. My wife is getting tired of me whining about it. I need to get a brochure or something......
