Yet another X-Plan question

I just got off the phone with the dealer, he said they received the Invoice for my truck.

Invoice Price from forddirect is: $34,693 (Del.)

He is telling me that X-Plan Price is: $35,185.20

Does that sound correct? Why is X-Plan more than Invoice?

He told me that the Advertising fee is "built into X-Plan"
Is this correct?

They also charged me $44 for fuel...???

Anyone else experienced this? I just hate the feeling that "I might" be getting screwed out of a few hundred bucks because of my own ignorance. I've invested a lot of time cruising this site and I don't want to lose anything here in the "End Game"

Thanks!

i've been under the impression that X-Plan avoided the extra fees. If you have X-plan then you have your code and you can log-in and see the vehicle X-Plan price according to Ford. If it is at the dealer, it should show in their inventory and you can see x-plan price. if not, then maybe one of the other guys around here can help you.

i believe that in most cases (i could be wrong) that x-plan is more than invoice...i have posted in the past a few times...it is very possible to get a better deal than x-plan gives the customer...for one, check out carmax's prices and use those at your local dealer...carmax in my zip code (53405) has approx 10 04 f150's selling for belove invoice...x-plan is nice sometimes though cuz there may be additional rebates available with it...just my $0.02

Just ask your dealer to see the actual factory document with the xplan price on it. They HAVE to show it to you if you're purchasing with an xplan. The advertising fee is built into the a/x plan price.

Is the gas fee to "top" off the tank at the dealership? I thought truck came with x amount of gallons of fuel from the factory, and that this was included in the base price.

My invoice 30613. My X-plan with FDAF & Fuel is 30542.

X-Plan will not be much different than invoice.

You get charged FDAF & Fuel. These are part of invoice.

I think the fees you avoid are dealer fees for nothing. Some dealers charge something like $300 just to get the money.

I agree with Toyota Sucks to ask for the actual invoice. I got mine on my truck. There are couple boxes at the bottom with useful numbers on them. Here's what mine looked like on my truck:

FDAF/LMDA Assesment: 295.00
Invoice Total: 33220.15
Less Holdback for Dealer Account: 1104.00
Less Approx Fincancing Cost for Dealer Account: <blank>
Memo - Invoice Less Holdback & FIN COST: 32116.15
A&D Plan: 31741.15
X PLAN: 33160.79

I paid $33552.35 for my truck.
Note that the invoice total includes base price, options, destination & delivery (795.00), and fuel charge (52.15 since I have a 35.7 gallon fuel tank)

Hope this helps you.

I paid X-plan for my 2004 lariat Screw. X-plan
to my knowlege is always lower than invoice.
I've never seen a x-plan price higher than
invoice. I think that dealer is playing you for
a fool. I also didn't pay any fees. X-plan price
is A-plan price plus 4%. A-plan is what Ford
employees get. This is well below invoice.
X-plan price is only 4% higher than A-plan
which still puts it below invoice.

I rechecked my A-plan purchase of a 02 EB Explorer. I paid the A-plan price in the box on the invoice. No fees. No gas surcharge. FDAF and gas was already itemized in the invoice from the factory.

I looked all over the x-plan web site, and I could not find anything about extra fees other than what your state may charge. I also sent and email to the website asking about this issue.

interesting...i have never built a vehicle on fordpartners.com or forddirect.com and had the x-plan price lower than invoice...i have boughten 2 trucks on x-plan and my parents have boughten 1 truck and 1 van on x-plan price (all 4 vehicles bought between 12-01 and 6-03) and all x-plan prices were higher than invoice...maybe it depends on the option set? not trying to flame, just trying to understand...

I got X-Plan and it was a couple hundred dollars over invoice. I didn't see any of the gas fee's or anything. They may have slipped it in. I was just happy to get a brand new truck so close to invoice and that he even ordered it under X-plan for me. You are supposed to get any Factory incentives as well but they didn't have any at the time.

Xplan is a good deal but you can do better. A friend of mine worked at a Ford plant in Lima and I was able to get a better deal than he did. Just a bout any dealer will sell you a truck at actual dealers invoice with no added fees. They are still making I beleive 5 percent hold back from the factory on each vehicle. Do some reserch on the internet to get actual dealers invoice, then go in and offer them that price. You will have to order it though or pay a little over invoice if you get one off the lot as they pay intrest on the vehicles that set on the lots. I have bought my last three trucks this way.Good luck

Nope not even close.

3% is the norm for domestic vehicles.
2% for imports.

The '04 F150s are just a hair above 3%. You may have been thinking of including a floor plan with the trucks. As far as I know Ford isn't offering any floor assistance on '04s yet, probably because dealerships can hardly keep them on the lot.
