Question Poll: Those who ordered Screws w/ two-tone 8/28 or after

Hi,

Since I can't get any info from my dealer, I'm going to live through those who did and see what the build dates and such are for those who ordered the same or similar things to me around the same time. Then guesstimate and hope from there.

So, for those who ordered Screws w/ lower two-tone (the two commodities that seem to be holding things up), if you ordered on or after 8/28, what kind of VIN or build info have you received?

I ordered on 9/4/03. It was also accepted that day.

Thanks,

Guigster

How about 7/12? Still no confirmed build date.

See, I don't know what the deal is with the early orders. Why are they taking so long? Something's not right with those.

I ordered on 8/27/03, order was accepted on 8/28. On the status sheet it is "bucked" and bigMac says it is being built now. I am hoping for a 10-20 delivery.

Blk / Az Beige 4 x 4 lariat screw that screwbuilder is taking great care with ( as I am sure he does with everyone he builds)

See? You're another one with info. I wonder if my dealer just isn't looking in the right place? She's been doing this for years, but I don't think anyone has really asked her for all this info like I have been. I think I'm more on top of things than her normal customers. She's a Fleet sales person. She does seem to have trouble w/ the computer.

Guigster,

I had similar issues getting my VIN from my salesman. I asked to speak with his sales manager and miraculously the information was available. You might try something similar.

ordered mine on 8/25

Ordered mine on 8/25 and still no VIN # or anything...

My truck is screw FX4 silver metalic with pretty much all the options....

Dealer told me it would be 4-6 weeks, and then changed his words to 6-8 weeks about a week later, and then saying could take 10 weeks sometimes bra bra brahhhh.

Well, good luck to all. Patience pays at the end.

Cheers

Thumbs up

Guigster,

My order was placed on 10/01/2003 as an retail order with a priority of 10. My dealer had 17 2004 F-150's allocated to him at the time the order was placed and the order was accepted into the bank. Thats about all I know at this point. The truck is a 2004 F-150 Screw Lariat 4x4 with Aspen Green and Arizona Beige as the color.

Well, I was thinking that, but she's been really cool throughout this whole thing. I'd hate to go over her head. It's not like if I do get the VIN, it's going to be built any quicker. It's just going to tell me when. I could just go on the assumption that it could get here at any time after mid-October.

When I canceled my first order, she didn't even know it was scheduled until she got to the last screen on her computer to cancel it.

I'm going on the assumption it will be here within three weeks. It seems, not just from this thread, that a lot of orders that were the same as mine either got built last week or will be this week. I hope I'm assuming correctly.

Guigster,

I began talking to my dealer (the owner of the dealership) back in April. He placed my order I believe at the end of july. I found out at the beginning of Aug that I had a build date of 9/15. The truck was delivered to California the last week of Sept and was at the dealership on 10/2. It is my opinion, but Ford is slow meeting the custom order list, which is making a few loyal Ford owners a little upset.

It seems that I am the first one in this are to have the Lariat with two-tone and floor shifter. Other than these items, my truck is fully loaded except moonroof. I will have to say, it is well worth the wait. IT IS AN AWSOME TRUCK!!!!

Well I called my dealer's voice mail last night to press her a little bit for a VIN today. Mentioned that a few other people's dealer's were having trouble getting it and they finally got it by asking the manager or calling the district office. So hopefully that'll press her a bit to get a little more in depth today. There's no way that there is not a VIN by this point (ordered on 9/4). She may not have direct easy access to it, but there's got to be one out there. Told her I really think it's being built this week. And that I wanted to try and verify it so I can begin attempting to sell my Explorer. So hopefully she'll get on that this morning and I'll be able to post my VIN later this afternoon.

Talked to the maanager of the dealer today. Still no info on my truck after over 5 weeks... ( ordered mine on 8/25/03 )

I will keep checking but the guy says " This can happen... ". I had only 4 conversation in the past month with this guy but he seems being annoyed by my phone call. Well, I am only asking general question with a normal tone of voice but...

You know, they shoud tell people to expect 8-10 weeks instead of 4-6 weeks. Now I do not care/listen to anything what they tell me cause it's simply a waste of time. Sick of dealing with the car dealeres... I will just wait for the truck, pay for it and drive away and would never see them again, that's my plan.

Good luck to all...

See, I just don't buy it. How could all these others get VINs and not just our few? Even ones ordered two weeks after ours? Did you see the manager look in the computer or call the district office? I think a lot of it is lip service because they don't want to have to go the extra mile. I don't even believe it when they look on the computer.

Mainly because on my original order that I canceled, after looking at her normal screens she said it wasn't scheduled. But then, when she went to the last screen to officially delete it, it said it was scheduled. And then we had to go through a whole rigamarol to get it canceled.

So I still think there's infor there. The question is, how do we get it?

Unhappy

I ordered a 2004 FX4 Silvermetallic with the two-tone on 8/21/03 and still have no word on build date. Last spoke to salesman on 10/02/03 and he said the hold up is the two-tone paint. Still waiting.
