Any pictures of a FX4 Flareside

Does anybody have a picture of a FX4 Super Cab Flareside? I'm looking for a dark shadow grey one. I saw a silver FX4 Flareside yesterday at a dealer, looked good. I would love to see a picture of a dark shadow grey flareside FX4.

Artic Cat,

Did the silver FX4 you saw yesterday have body colored wheel lip moldings, like the one pictured below, or were they grey?

The flareside I saw on Monday night had grey plastic trim along the well you normally see it painted. But this time it was grey plastic. The silver is a nice looking colour it shouldn't show dirt or salt as much as the other colours. But my colour preference is dark shadow grey FX4 super cab flareside with all black leather inside, sun roof, manual rear slider and the trailer tow package.

Thanks for the reply Arctic Cat. I kinda thought that might be the case, as the silver FX4 pictured above looks to be an early Ford studio photo shot, and like the trim variations from actual production models, such as one particular red FX4 that Ford has posted on their website, turns out to be something unavailable. The Ford literature suggests all the FX4 packages include the grey wheel lip molding treatment, but this one photo had me holding out hope that a true monotone FX4 was available. Oh well, it really would not be the largest of deals to have the moldings painted to match, or depending on the finish that is underneath, just remove the moldings completely instead.

Our color tastes seem to be similar AC. This week I saw a silver XLT and grey XLT truck sitting next to each other, and while I thought both were sharp, I felt the grey stood out a little more in full sun. The silver is such a light shade, that in bright light it almost apprears white. I think the black leather interior on the Shadow Grey FX4 is the best matched overall interior/exterior combination of all the new F-150s I have seen thus far, with the monotone black on black Lariat and FX4s running a close second.

bigsherm77! what's happening? Hows the truck. I heard they caught the bastard who keyed your truck! take the night stick to him buddy!

I would love picture of the black flareside!!! I had 1997 black flareside 4x4 super nice colour. That only thing I don't like about black is that it is white in the winter due to the salt on the roads. (that won't be long since it was snowing today) but I am leaning toward the Flareside super cab FX4 or the twin to bigsherms77 truck. I get to look at a yellow supercab this weekend FX4 Flareside this weekend. ( I don't own a digital camera .....yet)

Not sure when I'm ordering as I want a SuperCrew, but I'd rather have one with a 6.5' bed! Have narrowed the the trim packages to either FX4 or Lariat, in either montone dark shadow grey or black. Still on the fence about chrome versus body colored bumpers. Want the black leather for the FX4 for sure, but can't make my mind up on a monotone black Lariat interior choice, as the black on black is sweet, but the black and tan is always a classic combo, and the gauge package and wood looks better (IMO) with the tan scheme. For the moment: a FX4 DSG & black leather SuperCrew would be my first choice... and fortunately I have my sisters D plan pricing to make the numbers more palatable.

I saw a black flareside super cab FX4 last night! my god it was nice it had all black leather captians chairs with the flow through console. Looked great And then there was a Super cab lariat 4x4 black and tan beside it. Those are my two choices. I can't decide it's killing me. Lariat or FX4??? One minute I say FX4 then I see a Supercab lariat black and tan then I say Lariat is the one....... I have some serious thinking to do.

FoMoCoFoMe , we do seem to have the same taste in trucks and colour. I might have to do the old coin toss or test drive each truck for a day.

It would appear FX4 vs. Lariat is a common source of angst for many here, as is reflected in the most viewed images in our forums gallery, the first being an FX4 interior pic...

...and the second most viewed image a Lariat interior.

The interior choices are the big 'problem' for me. The 'problem' with the Lariat interior is the tan next to the gray. It is just visually jarring to my eyes. My girlfriend says it is because grey is 45 degrees from tan on the color wheel. I dunno, it is just plain busy to me. However, a Lariat black interior does not have this 'problem', but the wood does look out of place (to me). That too can be rectified, as you can now order dash kits to replace the offensive trim items. Carbon fiber or black burlwood seem like good replacement candidates.

The other items that tip the scales between the two trim packages are the FX4 body colored bumpers (or grey) vs. Lariat chrome ones (or AZ beige), and their grill differences. Yeah, the grills can be changed, but it is interesting to note how much the looks changes between the FX4 and Lariat, simply because of their grills. Ulitmately the bumpers could be chromed, powder coated or painted, however one decides; but their certainly is an expense involved. Same thing for the FX4 grey wheel lip moldings. The preforated FX4 leather vs. the Lariat leather is not an easily fixed mod, but both are very nice choices. Just wish the FX4 had the freakin' auto temp control...

...and we complain about women and their shoes and purse fetish??

I took some pics of a black and grey FX4 Flareside supercab and emailed them to my computer from my dad's (it's his camera.) For some reason I havn't recieved them yet on my computer. When they get here I will post them.

The wheel lip mouldings are grey plastic that is not painted or body colored. Also, the flaresides have a slightly different tailgate that has a spoiler type look of it at the top. It's a really cool look!

The tail gate on the flareside is kinda curved eh. Almost like a spolier. I think it looks cool. I love the a$$ of the flareside, it just looks good. Too bad you can't get a flareside lariat! That would be cool.

Bigsherm77 if you would post the pictures that would be awesome!

I am also considering black leather in the lariat I think the tan will show to much day to day dirt and whatever on the steering wheel and door handles. Might consider black and tan exterior and black tan inside?? Maybe. I can't make up my mind. I need to win the Super 7 lottery.
