2 MONTHS AFTER HIS SHIP DATE AND HE STILL DOES NOT HAVE HIS VEHICLE!!! UGHHHH!!!!!
THAT'S UTTERLY RIDICULOUS....

 

I've stopped looking at the dates -- there must be an issue with the VIN or the dealer gave him a VIN to one of thier "Stock" Trucks

Something's wrong though! I didn't even order my truck until 8/27/03... Maybe I posted the wrong VIN... Here's the one he gave me....1FTPW14584KA01738... It is a Black FX4 SCrew (is that what showed up when you looked it up, Bigmac). You don't think they already had one built like what I ordered and are just going to re-route it to me do you?? I wouldn't care.... but with a ship date of 7/25, that doesn't make sense either.

I'm completely confused.

Thanks for the help, guys. I called my dealer and he said my truck should be here toward the end of the week of Oct 6. I asked him to fax me something with my VIN on it so I can make sure it's right. I'll post what happens.

Okay, my dealer faxed me the invoice from my truck's order... or so he thought. I looked it over and quickly realized this was not my truck!! I ordered an FX4 and the invoice was for a Lariat!! I got on the horn and called him back... He said, "Uh Oh!... let me call you back". About a half an hour later he called back and said he found my invoice (it even had my name on it!), so he faxed me that one. Sure enough the VIN is different. But I still have one problem that hopefully is not a problem at all... I ordered the black leather captains chairs, but on the invoice it says:
"Black interior w/Flint Seats" The code for it is "QB". Does anybody know if this is the right code for Black leather?? I really hope this truck don't show up with Grey seats!! I want the black.
Please, if somebody knows, let me know... I'm pretty worried about it... I need some Redman!! Ha.

Bigmac... could you run this VIN when you get a chance? Thanks for your help in catching the FIRST screw up w/ my truck!!

Just checked the order guide I have. The code for the black leather captain's chairs is "JB" not "QB" that is for the Flint chairs.

Do I take delivery of the truck?? I'm pretty sure it's already been built (I've asked Bigmac to help me find out for sure) so that means to get the truck I really ordered... I've got to go through the whole process again and possibly loose my $500 deposit on the WRONG truck. I like grey leather, but I REALLY want black....

WHAT SHOULD I DO??? This SUCKS!!!

 

first, have your dealer search to see if another dealer has the truck you want. if so, get it.

if that doesn't work, don't take delivery of the truck. tell him you want it the way you had ordered it. they can sell that truck to someone else without a problem. you are not back out of the truck, so you shouldn't lose the deposit. did they present you with documentation or have you sign something saying that it is a non-refundable deposit? i doubt it, they didn't have me do that at my dealership. i'm sure you can apply your deposit to another truck.

 

Thanks. That's a good idea to call around and try to find it, but I doubt they'll find one b/c I have yet to see one. I didn't sign anything b/c I did it by credit card over the phone. I think my dealer will let me slide... He an awesome guy, he just made a mistake.

 

I didnt take the truck I ordered. You have no requirement to accept the truck. The dealership will simply put it out to sale.

We did that, shopped around locally, and bought the truck we wanted from another dealership. Black Screw Lariat with Black leather captain chairs.

Man its awesome.
