Anyone in SOCAL expecting delivery soon?...
If you're expecting delivery in the very near future (in SO CAL), your truck may be on the train pulling in tonight.
I just spoke with my dealer and he said my truck's on a train that will (should) arrive in Mira Loma (between the 15 & 60 frwy's, near Norco) sometime tonight, 9/16. From there, depending on where the truck is located on the car (front or back), they have up to 72 hours to get it off the train.
I don't know if trucks may sit in a staging area, for a period of time, after they're unloaded until a truck carrier picks them up to deliver them to the dealers... or what. I'm hopefully optimistic that I could have my truck by the weekend but we'll see what happens.
To give an idea of the timeline, below are my dates:
VIN - 1FTPW12524KA65910
Order Date: 7/11/2003
Receipt Date: 7/11/2003
Serialize Date: 8/14/2003
Segment Date: 8/15/2003
Sequence Date: 8/20/2003
Blend Date: 8/22/2003
Produced Date: 9/3/03
Gate Release Date: 9/3/03
Ship Date: 9/8/03

i think i am going to order mine in the next few weeks. is it safe to assume that delivery times will come down to 6-8 weeks after ordering, even here on the west coast, now that the truck is actually released?
I would probably count on AT LEASE 8 weeks, to be a little on the safe side. I've seen people on here who ordered in May who still don't have a VIN or build date yet... some 4 months later.
well, here is what i am planning on ordering, are any of these things "short supply items" that will delay it?
Scab 4x4 Lariat styleside
Toreador red (monotone)
3.73 LSD
Audiophile
35.7 Gallon tank
Black leather captain's chairs with console, black interior
Skid plates
Power sliding rear window
those are all the options, everything else will be the standard Lariat flavor (deluxe mirror pkg, power adjustable pedals, 5.4L, ESOF, trip computer, EATC, etc...)
thoughts?

I'll definately try to post some pics when this beast comes in (seems like it takes forever)... I ordered it from Burch Ford in La Habra. Guys there are "no pressure" and deal fairly.
I'm using the A-Plan, so with tax, title and registration (about 2,888.11
), I guestimate that the out the door price will be about 33,289.46.
MSRP 36,000.00
INVOICE 31,757.35
A/Z/D PLAN 30,401.35
X PLAN 31,767.00

Stupid TTL. I have a question looking at your numbers you posted for the various plans. I'll be buying with A-Plan myself. Does the A-Plan price include the destination charge? Also, I can figure out the tax, but the title and license, are those a set amount or does it depend on the price of the vehicle? Because it looks like you aren't going to be putting any money down. I plan to put down at least 10K. I bought my Ranger almost 8 years ago, so I can't really remember.
Thanks.
Thanks.
The A-Plan does include a destination charge, but does not include fuel, FDAF and a few other little charges. A-Plan customer's don't have to deal with that.
For the tax, title and registration fees, I used this nifty little tool from Edmunds. Give it a try.
I'll be putting about 19K down on my truck and financing about 14k. I've already got a lender and a blank check (peoplefirst.com) @ 3.74% for 60 mos. Payment will be about $256.19/month.
