Question 6CD Work Well

Does the 6disc CD player work well?

I think I have heard of them getting jammed or other problems.

Can you just leave 6 CDs in all the time.

I think I would use it as storage of CDs if I had it.

So far mine has worked great and I've had the same six Jimmy Buffett CD's in mine since I got it on 8/22.

I had a 6-Cd in my '97, and have a 6-CD in my '98, and I've never had any problems with them.

FYI: The 6 CD in the 1997's - if you stopped the truck, then started it again, the CD that was playing would start from the beginning of the song it was on.

The 6 CD in the 1998's would start playing the CD it was on in the same exact spot that it stopped at when you stopped your truck.

I assume the one in the '04's is just as good. Who knows, maybe the random feature will finally random through ALL 6 CD's, not each one individually as the '97 & '98's did. Here's to hoping!

if its like the sporttrac's they work great. Be sure and if you burn CD-R's dont put the outside graphics on them, just leave them stock (can write with marker though)

I have the 6-CD in my 01 and use it a lot with my daughter. Never had a problem with it. Now, since I have posted this tomorrow it will probably fry...

Thanks,

The answer was it can't play mp3 :-( Does the CD player keep compression on, or do you have to turn it on every time? I have the single CD, and it does not remember it's on. Is the premium stereo option worth it, or should I go aftermarket? The single is OK, surprisingly loud.
