Question Hey XCR440SP? Question on BS Chgs.

XCR440SP,

I got a copy of my Order Receipt Acknowledgement yesterday of the truck I re-ordered. And there are two additional charges on there that were not on my original order. Are these BS or are they legit?

1) NJ Cost Surcharge $157
2) FDAF Assessment $295

I didn't know if they tacked those on because I annoyed them about canceling my first order. But they seem a little fishy.

Thanks

I got the same FDAF charge.

That NJ charge i've never heard of and I took delivery in central NJ.

Sounds like someone's trying to give it to me up the old chute. I don't mind paying if they're legit. I mean I mind, but I don't get uneasy about getting ripped off.

Guister ~ FDAF is an advertising fee that Ford passes on to the dealers and varies by region. I would assume the NJ charge is a local charge for New Jersey that is tacked on.

I'm A-Plan, so the charges don't really affect me. However, being that you've ordered your vehicle before they were released (at least your first order), I would have them take the FDAF fee away. After all, what advertising was needed to get you to buy it? NONE.

That's true. If all I did was cancel and re-oreder, the only thing they did to sway me was make a cr@ppy interior on the XLT.

FDAF is Ford Dealer's Advertising Fund. It's a charge to pay for the regional Advertising. For Example our FDAF sponsors the Kansas Speedway and has Midwest Ford dealer signs around the track.

New Jersey cost surcharg is also a legit fee. You get surcharged because New Jersey law requires Ford to pay a fair parts and labor rate same as a customer. Actually this is good for you, you'll get better service and the dealer will be more eager to do warranty as they'll make money on it. In other states, we get screwed and if we're lucky we break even on warranty. Go to www.flatratetech.com to find out more about Ford warranty if interested.

But to sum up, both fees are real, the dealer isn't cheating you.

Do you think I can get the FDAF one waived?

No FDAF is one you have to pay. Its built into the invoice price, and this is true for ALL dealers. Commercial Fleet and A/Z/D plan has this removed as part of its discount, but X plan pays some FDAF.

Oh, it shows on the DORA then, but thats for the invoice amount which also shows on the DORA. Your D plan price is listed below. The difference between D and invoice includes the FDAF being removed, so your not actually paying it.

Ok. So the $1,490 difference I have between my price and invoice includes the subtraction of the $295 FDAF.

One more question since you're so full of answers. In the adds section at the bottom of my sheet, there is a code "*C09." I have nothing listed in my options as *C09. Do you know what that's a code for?

And could you please read my thread titled, "Question on FX4 order sheets" and let me know if you know?

Thanks

Yes, that includes the subtraction of FDAF.

C09 means "Priced DORA" if this code isn't entered the DORA prints out with options but no price.

I don't quite understand. I have D-plan, but I am getting charged that amount as well. The FDAF that is. It was added on to my cost. Am I getting ripped off? The difference after adding the FDAF is less than $1000 between my total cost and invoice.

Also, with the D-plan am I still eligible for the military discount and college grad discount? I know it SAYS you can't use them, but does the computer system allow you to add those discounts on on the 2004s?

Lastly, is there a certain percentage off of invoice that determines the D-plan price? Are options discounted with that same percentage?

Currently the military and College grad rebates don't apply to a A plan (D plan is the same) 04 F-150.

As to the added to the price, are they taking the A/z/D plan and adding the FDAF or are you assuming since its on the DORA its in there. The plan pricing is the easiest thing there is. The A/Z/D plan price is what you pay, the dealer can't mess with this. We have to fill out forms for Ford showing the price and give the customer a copy of the invoice showing the Ford set price.
