04' Availability?
04' Availability?
I'm in California and I keep seeing all over the place about dealers not having certain models in for several months, etc. and was just wondering if there is some expected delay or shortage in the amount of F-150's that they intend to produce?
I think your going to see an overabundance of "fancy" models as everyone ordered showy units for the early trucks. I think you'll find a disproprtioate number of FX4's and bucket seats with floor shift (FX4 and Lariat). The one thing that will be short is SuperCrew, with the KC plant starting a month later, they don't have the numbers built that Norfolk does (Norfolk builds only Supercab and regular cab).
Also hard to get will be two tone paint. For some reason 5.5' Box Supercabs are also on the control list as is blazing yellow paint.
All these items will be around, but will be short supply.

XCR440SP
also on the control list as is blazing yellow paint.
I'm striking out here.
1st it was Bright Tubular Running Boards
2nd was Moonroof
3rd was SuperCrews
4th blazing Yellow Paint
I think I read somewhere that certain tires are in short supply as well...??? Probably the ones I ordered (Michelans 18" P274)
Ford should have waited a couple of more months before releasing these trucks, it is apparent that they rushed this truck to market before they had the parts inventory.

I figured that the FX4 would be more available seeing as how 1) not everyone is going to spend that much, and 2) they would get the Lariat before the FX4 before it has more standard options and is a little less expensive.
But hell, i'm getting the FX4 because it's more sporty and I don't want beige/cream interior dash hehe

was looking on the net and through some papers I got from the dealer and I cant find any thing on a std trans avalible on any of the 04 modle f150's
on kelly blue book it lists the auto as std equipment and in the flyer from the dealer (had get one from a friend in svc dept as none in showroom) the anly metion is that the heritage will be the only way to get the 4.6 w/ the std. trans
whats the deal here anybody know ?
will I have to wait till '05 for a manual trans ?
If that is the case I am going to look at the dodge dealer
dont flame me on this but I been waiting to replace my current f150 so I could get an '04 now this , it is just one more example of ford corp not understanding their customer base .
