Bought a 2004 today....

FX4 Black....with grey lower panel....leather...moonroof...power rear window....loaded....with the exception of the Audiophile (rats)........

The was a spur of the moment thing...was on my way to dinner with my wife and daughter and asked if she wanted to look at them (3 on the lot)....she said sure......got out...looked at it....salesman opened it up for us...my wife said "I want it" (even though it is for me)....I had to take a double look to make sure it was my wife saying that. Anyway....she said lets sit down and get a price. So we did......went in...put $50 to hold it and picked it up today.

I love it. All I need now is a spray liner....tonneau cover...and new exhaust.

Anyone know when Bassani will have their line out for the 2004? Or anyone aftermarket manufacturer, for that matter?????

And I'm sure you paid top retail price compared to what I will spend after I wait several months and every major Ford dealer in the country has hundreds of them on their lots. Making impulse buys on one of life’s largest purchases is unwise, with the exception of the very wealthy. Just my opinion, and I'm allowed to it

LOL! Funny.

I got the A plan for starters.....and secondly, I can afford it.

I may of missed out on a rebate of a $1000....no biggie. My payment is $600/month....I was still paying $400/month for my '99 (I bought off my brother in law).

The truck stickered at $37500....I paid around $31000.

If a vehicle is one of your largest life purchases, then may I suggest investing your money elsewhere?

I agree

Ill either look for a 2003 in December or wait a year or two until you can't swing your arm without hitting a 2004, just like it got to be with the last generation, and then negotiate prices of mid to upper 20's out the door all day long. I ain't rich enough to pay that 'first on the block to have one' tax. Since you wanted to, Im more than happy to let you do it for me. Go ahead, please. Be my test mule. People like you show me what bugs still have to be worked out on newly introduced models and also provide me with my choice of 1-2 year old last generation models to snap up if I decide I dont like the 04.

Sounds like you don't know much about buying trucks...

For example my dealer has 6 new 04. They have a loaded, FX4 04 red/gray it stickers for 34k, they are selling it for 28k of which they can afford to do since they have like 300 plus trucks on their lot.

It all depends on what someone can get it for, oh that 28k was to "anyone" no plan...

Damn, you boys been listening to that gangsta rap satellite they've got over there in the Other Audio System forum???

It's a truck, it's his money... geeze... I'm starting to think maybe this isn't the place I thought it was...

Get along or I'll just take my truck and leave...

If I wanted to immaturity I'd go elsewhere... still may.

BTW, beastboy, congrats on your new truck! Sounds like a nice one. I got to sit in a couple today, and one of these days I may have one too...

Congrats Beastboy!!!

I can't believe people on here would be haters and knock you for joining the blue oval family. I for one would like to say welcome to the FX4 club!!

I havent seen an 04 on the road here in Oklahoma City but as soon as I do he/she will get the "thumbs up" regardless of what they paid for it.

Just my .02

Beastboy, congrats on the new truck sounds like a nice rig. I am looking at a 2003 Lariat now that I may purchase to replace my 97. I have only seen a couple of the new ones around here and have not seen any with leather. Keep us posted on how you like it.

Beastboy -

Congrats on the new truck. Sure would like to see some pics as soon as you can get them posted.

I have a 2002 F-150 King Ranch Supercab 4X4. I bought it in December 2001 very early in the 2002 model year similar to what you did. It was the only one on the dealer's lot and I still paid exactly what I was prepared to pay. Buying early in the model year doesn't mean you have to let the dealer take you to the cleaners. Do your homework, decide what you're parpared to pay, and go for it.

Good luck on the new truck. I like the 04s very much but I'm not ready to give up my King Ranch just yet. Expecially since it will be two years in December and I've only got 6200 miles on it!

Sounds like anyone wanting to buy a new vehicle needs to go to New Hampshire. They sell them there below A plan cost to anybody. Even the brand new model that everybody is waiting for. If that was the case, it would be well worth it to buy from this dealer and have it shipped to you.

Thanks all.....it took my quite off guard to get the reaction of a couple of the members. I belong to quite a few bodybuilding sites, and you wouldn't believe some of the flaming that goes on......just don't care to deal with that.....being brothers of the iron is what we got in common....just like the Ford bond here......just hoping that I can use your knowledge when in need......I'm not a truck guru, but if you are looking for information on health and fitness.....I'm your man.

I just shared my spur of the moment purchase to show how taken my wife and I were with this truck. You wouldn't believe the looks we get from other motorist (mostly truck drivers).

I hope to get some pics of it today....going to wash her up already, right after I hit the gym.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. They have the reg. factory sticker on it and then the dealers to the left with all the mark downs. Since I know two of the salesmen pretty good (after buying 5 vehicles there) I asked how the hell could they sale one for the 28K or may have been 28.7k that was like $1k or so below invoice.

He stated that invoice is different from one dealer to the next, but that when you buy or order as many vehicles as they do you get a better price.

The other thing is to get some sold QUICK with their dealer sticker on it so people KNOW where to go and buy them...

They also have some 03 Lightnings that have a factory sticker of 33.4k and selling them (sticker on the window) for 30k. Not sure how good of a deal that is, but they are not selling it for MSRP.

beastboy:

I forgot to mention in my post congrats on your new truck. Just irritates me sometimes when someone seems jealous of another’s happiness’s, and my post was directed at that person. Hope you did not take it as directed towards you...
