IMHO, platform steps look stupid on a rugged looking vehicle, especially the FX4. Almost as bad as the 80's alunimum running boards that I have seen on a few 97+ F-150's. Whatever material, they look bad.

I would order the truck without steps and buy aftermarket ones. Generally cheaper, look better, and are made better. I wonder what the Westin CPS would look like on a 2004 F-150....

BTW, that two-tone blue FX4 looks like crap. It is actually three tone. I don't like two-tone nor the colored fender flares anyway, but having two shades of the same color looks bad right next to each other. What was Ford thinking?

Despite the last two comments, I have decided to go with the Blue w/ Grey two-tone and the Black Tubular Running Boards.

They had a grey one there, but it looked too plain for me. And they had an Explorer w/ Blue & Grey accent. I liked it.

But of course, I have to wait and wonder all weekend long...(See Thread: Dilemma w/ my order switch. Help.)

Are you a dealer? If so, can you read my "Dilemma" thread and tell me what you think will happen?

My dealer had a red and gray one, looked NICE. Sticker was 33k or 34k, advertised for 28.5k...

Yes I am a dealer, but I don't know what to tell you. I think a scheduled order can be cancelled within a few days of scheduling sometimes, but I doubt the dealer wants to do this as he looses a hard to get truck and wasted his allocation.

So I don't know what to say. Have to wait and see.

I own that Blue/Grey FX4's dad. I was wondering what my truck would look exactly like as an 04. BTW good choice on getting that one Guigster, I think the True Blue / Shadow grey is the best 2-tone Ford has ever made.

What does "wasted his allocation" mean? I figured they might try to keep it for three reasons.

1. To keep me happy.
2. They'll be getting a truck they can sell for more to someone else.
3. I'll be buying a more expensive truck.

It all boils down to money on both ends. I have it and they want it.
