Hurry! Need Opinions ASAP
Hi everyone I need you opinions on two things. I am changing my trim level of my order from and XLT to an FX4. I have two decisions I'm wavering on. Need your help.
1. (Color)
a) True Blue Met. w/ Dark Shadow Grey Two-Tone
b) All Dark Shadow Grey
2. (Running Boards)
a) Black Platform
b) Black Tubular
I want to re-submit my order within next couple of hours.
Thanks!

Yeah, I know the red looks good too. But I've had three red vehicles so far. Never had a blue. Really wanted Wedgewood, but can't get that w/ the FX4. I keep missing the whole commercial. Only catching the end.
1) I suggest you go with the all Dark Shadow Grey. My theory on this is that they change the two-tone combinations from year to year, which marks earlier combinations as "older". Make sense? Plug that Dark Shadow Grey is AWESOME!
2) I like the crome nerf bars the best, but if you gotta have black, I'd go with the tubular bars because the don't make the truck appear so low to the ground.

Really not a big fan of chrome. But it's looking like the Black Tubular is going to be the way to go.
The only thing I don't like about the Dark Shadow Grey is that there's nothing to break up the big flow of grey. I think having a two-tone gives a little character. More of a sporty look.

1. A or B is personal preference. The solid color will probably arrive quicker than a two tone truck (two tone is a controled commodity)
2. Platform is more functional, but tubular looks better (in my opinion). I'd order without and put the Chrome accesorie boards on. These look really good with just a little chrome to break them up.

There's a picture of the Dark Shadow Grey monotone SCrew in the 2004 F150 catalog. If you haven't seen it, that will give you some more insight to base your decision on.

I think if you go all gray then if you got chrome nurf bars that would help break up the solid color of the gray, otherwise if you go with the black nurf bars I would go two tone. Just my opinion.
I know someone said it might take longer to get if you go with the two tone, but you have to think long term. If you get it quicker but are not real happy with the solid color you might kick yourself in the butt for a long time...

Thought this might help decide. I've got a Blue and Gray FX4 sitting here (SOLD)

Notice that the flare isn't exactly the same color as the two tone. It doesn't look quite as different as this picture appears, but is noticable.

Wow! That does help! Thank you! I have been looking for a pic of the blue w/ two-tone. Not one in the book. I saw an all Grey one yesterday on the lot. It's just so hard when you don't see them in person side-by side.
Are those the black tubular bars on the bottom?

I prefer the tubes. I think the other boards make trucks look lower to the ground. Being able to see between the tube and the cab eliminates this effect.
This is the only F-150 I have right now (got three more sitting within a four hour drive waiting shipping), I have a gray XLT coming, but not an FX4.
