Question Question about 3 valve 4.6 with VCT for new f-150

So I'm wondering what the new 3 valve 4.6 with VCT will have in terms of HP/TQ. Ford spent like 200 million to make the new 4.6.

Wasn't the old 5.4 2v 260 hp....if the 3 valve 5.4 jumped to 300 hp wouldn't a 4.6 3v have a similar, significant jump. I might wait till the new 4.6 3v is available, perhaps on the '05 models. I hope it bumps the 231hp/293tq to around 260hp/315tq hp?

what are your thoughts?

thanks, please don't flame....LOVE THE LOOK OF THE NEW f-150!

Welcome to the board SilverGT!

As far as the 4.6 3V......I don't think it's gonna be out for another year or two. I read something on it @ www.blueovalnews.com a few months ago but don't remember if the article stated any numbers in terms of HP/TQ.

I sure hope they raise it that much, it seems to be within reason with the Mustang GT 2V engine making 260HP/300+TQ the 3V truck motor could easily do it I would imagine.

I guess only time will tell.

did some research on the corral.....the 2005 mustang should have a 3 valve 4.6 so the truck application couldn't be far away.
