I belive this is the URL
http://www.visteon.com/technology/au...e_boston.shtml
Nine speakers, though it would be very nice, seems a bit much to be in a truck. Perhaps ford finally upped their sound system along with everything else.

If you click on Ford Truck news on the main page of this site it will take you to suppliers of the 2004 F150. It says Audiophile sound sytem ( VISTEON CORP ). They show on their web site only one Audiophile sound sytem that they make so that has to be the one right? Visteon also is listed as the suppliers of about 11 other components of this truck. Also I just noticed that they have the Delphi Corp. as the supplier of the CD/Radio ( 6-disc ). Maybe that explains why the radio looks different in the pictures.

I just bought a 2004 FX4 with the regular single disc cd player. This is the only part of my truck I'm not crazy about. I just don't think the sound is very good. Can the dealer switch out the system for the Audiophile system? And, if so, would they adjust the cost for this option by taking my standard system? Any advice?

Lord, Jim!
I seriously doubt that it is even possible.
The Audiophile consists of different speakers, stereo receiver, amp, and an added subwoofer. Not trying be negative, just don't think it can happen and the cost would be a little high considering the upgraded parts and installation at the dealership.

Just found the Digital Processing function of the Audiophile Sound System (and about rear ended a trailer) when I heard the result. If you test drive this truck, while you are in the parking lot, press the menu button until you see "All Seats, Drivers Seat, Back Seats." When you are on "drivers seat" this thing is so good it is distracting!
As a joke, I threw in a copy of "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix Alot.... Don't worry about rappers in slammed trucks. You can out blast them (if you are so inclined) or simply run over them, your choice! YIPEE!
Now to download "Play that Funky Music White Boy..." anyone know the artist's name? Who would have ever thought a truck would be this much fun?

my wife has the Audiophile in her 02 lincoln ls ...I ordered it in my Lariat as well hoping that it will sound as good as it does in her car....that system in her car is by far the best sounding (FACTORY) system I have ever heard. Sounds like the F150 version is just as good. Yeah the different speaker settings is cool...also hit menu when u have a cd in and scroll to compression...then change it. Also, oh hers there is are settings for artificial surround (jazz hall, church, news, and some others) does the f150 Audiophile have those settings as well??
