Question Pricing Help

Hey Guys ,

I priced out an FX4 on the Ford site today and with adding some options I got the following prices:

2004 F-150 FX4 SuperCrew 4X4 Styleside - 5-1/2'

MSRP $36,950.00
INVOICE $32,321.00

Should I expect to pay the above MSRP for the truck? I keep on seeing threads saying that people are paying so much over invoice. What is a good amount to pay over invoice? Now I don't completely understand what A/X-Plan pricing is. What is it? Who can qualify and how do you apply? Basically how do I truly know I'm not getting reamed when I go in to buy the truck?

Thanks,

Anyone can get "fleet prices" go into the dealer and ask to talk to the fleet sales guy and tell them you want a "fleet of one". You can also talk to the internet guys (some times the same person as fleet). The prices are usually set and haggle free but you can still try to talk them into going lower. Also they don't work on comission so usually they don't care if you buy now ,later, or at all. Hope this helps.

Actually from what I heard, Ford makes what they call "Fleet Vehicles" that have reduced options, like rubber matted floors instead of carpet, dull steel wheels instead of polished rims, plain radio ect. They are cheaper, but they are cheaper because you aren't getting the good stuff.
That would be cool if you could custom order a fleet vehicle with all the options of the general public vehicles 'one at a time'.

Yes they are called work series trucks. My current truck was one before I bought it new and did some mods. BUT you can buy any vehicle from fleet sales they are just sales men that don't work on commision. Thats all.
