I checked out a few dealerships in my area this weekend. According to Ford, one dealer had two 2004's in stock, but when I asked about them the sales guy said they didn't have any.

Also, at every dealership I went to looking for a catalog, they tried to hustle me into a 2003. I told them I was an A-Plan buyer and I was only interested in a 2004. They left me alone after that. No catalog either.

 

Went to 3 dealers today. The first told me no pricing, come back in a month. Yeah, right. The second said they were getting pricing tomorrow, and would call me then. Ok, we'll see. The third was the worst, at first. The guy didn't know anything, even took me on the lot to look for '04's that didn't exist yet. He thought some Lariat '03's and some 2004 F-250's were what I was looking for. Then the truck manager came over. He badgered me about my trade (he wanted ME to tell HIM what I wanted for my truck). I kept saying, "You're the dealer, YOU tell ME how much it's worth." Finally he said MAYBE he could get me $14K for my '98. OK, maybe that's not bad, I figure. He then tells me to go to the other dealers on my list, and he'll beat whatever they offer for my '98. Then he says, no pricing on the truck I want, sorry. Can't do anything there. WTF?! So I leave, muttering under my breath. As I open my drivers door, what should happen but the Sales Manager himself comes running out, now the 3rd person I've seen here. He tells me all these little stories, many of them seeming to ring true as I've read them here on this forum. Then he says, "I'll sell you the '04 at $500 over Invoice." He says to call tomorrow for exact pricing, that he'll talk to his friend at the plant to see about availability and pricing. So that's where I am so far. I just don't understand the BS they feed me about not having any pricing yet. I mean, I've seen guys on here talking about the orders they've placed back in March and April!

 

I orderd a black FX4 Screw with every thing but leather and moonroof on 5-13-03. I'm going to the dealer on wednesday to hammer out a deal. They just got the pricing list last friday. I was bored at lunch and priced out my truck on the ford site and did that request a quote. I would say within one hour 1 dealer called me and all 3 e mailed me by 5:00. I'm still going to buy the truck at the dealer that I orderd it from since I grew up with the sales manager and this will be my 4th truck since 96 that I have purchased from them. (You think I'm walking out of there without a dynamite deal!!). To get back to the other dealers the one who called me said that he only had one 2wd XLT that came in on friday. I went after dinner to look at it and guys with out a doubt it was the nicest truck that I ever sat in. . I couldn't test drive it since they had it on the show room floor!!!!!
