That's true Magnum-

However, if you're the kind of person that trades vehicles every 2-3 years, buying a vehicle in it's last year of a certain bodystyle, will kill you on a trade, as that model depreciates faster, since a new body is out.

But, if a person is content with what they have, this is the BEST time to get a new F-150, 2003 that is.....

Cool Hmmm

As "cool" as the 2004 is, you guys make a very good common sense argument for the 2003. Hell, I have enough saved, I could go buy one this weekend, lol. Maybe I will go shopping and let my tired old lease sit for a month if I bought one sooner.

Then again, the audiphile, the new interior, rear DVD system...

*AND I just find out, my lease can be turned in as late as Oct. 1. Though I don't think I have the milage left to keep it that long. Stupid complicated decisions, lol!*

I'm in the position to just BARELY be able to afford an '04. I could easily afford an '03, but I just don't think I'd be satisfied. Don't get me wrong... my dad has an '03 SCrew Lariat and I absolutely love it... They're GREAT trucks, but once I see that '04 on the road... I don't think I'll be able to sit still. Dad says this is probably the best time in my life (24...just graduated...single...) to splurge on a vehicle... so I'm gonna splurge!!!

Bring it on, Ford!

You mirror my dilema. do we do the responsible thing? Or do we reward ourselces for college? LOL. Let me know what you decide. I am going to order mine tomorrow. But don't have to decide until it arrives.

It's kind of a good problem to have, huh?

I actually faxed my info (Style and options) to my dealer today and he is going to call me back with prices so I can do some homework. I did that just to get the ball rolling... in all honesty... I'm going to take a day off work here in the next week or so and go order mine... I just can't take it anymore. I've been watching this truck for at least a year and a half... maybe two and I just can't take it.

What are you going to order?? I'd like to know options and all just to compare and see if I missed anything cool!!

Personally if I were shopping for a truck right now it would be real hard to pass up some of the deals on the 03's

I traded in my '97 for an '03 S/C and figure with the 8000 off MSRP and the 0% for 5 in 2 years I'll be way under and trade up to an '05 and get a truck with all the kinks worked out and possibly get some incentives with it and still drive new all the while

That is very hard to pass up, more so since this is the first year with the new 04. I know Ford is trying their best to get the bugs out, but you know there will be some bugs...

Ordered

I ordered one. Andy's minus the moon roof, running boards (I'll do that after market), and I went with sport cloth instead of leather.

He puts my order in Thursday, anyone want to convince me to get the moon roof?

And man, I hate dealers. Despite being X Plan, all three that I talked to today were shady. I have 1,000 miles left on my lease. Will the 2004 come in reasonable time? Will there be rebates? Will the ahole dealer refund my $500 deposit if I don't get it?

LOL, all this and more, later.

So with TT&L, 35k. If I skim a grand off all my different investments, and what I have saved, I can put 10k down (might have to eat light for two paychecks to recover, lol), which means 460 a month. So tell me the truck is worth all that?

From everything I have heard about moonroofs from the factory compared to aftermarket is that factory is MUCH BETTER quality with basically no leaking problems. There have been about 4 people I have know out of about 6 though out my life that have had moonroofs done aftermarket and then end up leaking within a year.

Myself, I would HIGHLY recommend you get the moonroof done by the factory...

Straight up. If you spend more than 16-18% of your monthly income on a truck payment - you could become a statistic. 3 to 7 years of 'buy here-pay here' is an awfully high price to pay for an emotional purchase. If you are privileged, or lucky, you can go as high as 18-20%. Things change over time, and it makes me sick to see logic overruled by emotion. The F/I guy is not your best friend.
