Conveyance fee on 04 FX4 SCrew?

I just ordered a 2004 FX4 SCrew and on the Purchase order there is a "Conveyance Fee" of $199.00...???

What is the Conveyance Fee for and is $199.00 about average?

Thanks!

I believe I selected every available option:

MSRP $39,690

I paid $34,990 Delivered which is $200 above invoice.
Plus I get any Rebates/Incentives at time of delivery.
Plus I get Lifetime FREE Oil changes!!!! Every 5K

Estimated Delivery Date is early October.

Conveyance Fee

Well, the definition of "Conveyance" is "a transfer of Title Fee".

My question now is: Do all Dealers charge this Fee and how much should it be?

Is this like one of those Mortgage "Junk" fees listed on the Good Faith estimates?

Sounds like a dealer level fee. Some charge you a "paperwork" fee for filling out tax, title, and license papers.

This must be a fee that certain dealers charge , I have looked at (3) different window stickers of 2004 F150's that are in dealer inventory, and the only fee , is a delivery charge of I believe , $795.

could be. and I think its worth it. $200 to the dealer or I go to the DMV (or MTO in my area) myself and stand in line for 2 hours to get served by a rude civil servant.

No, Im sorry I'll pay the $200.

fees

I live in RI and the dealership is CT, maybe the fees are for Title transfer to another State??? Maybe they're fees for the dealer going to pay tax/title/registration fees ....??

It also has the following statement on the Purchase Order:

THE DEALER CONVEYANCE FEE IS NOT PAYABLE TO THE STATE OF CT

The above statement is part of the Purchase Order, it is not hand written by the dealership rep...

Thanks for the response!

I could not have said it better.

I'm still wondering if the majority of other "New" vehicle buyers are paying such a fee, or is it a way for the dealears to boost their own profit.

Although I will pay it willingly if it keeps me out of the zoo (registry) $200.00 is still a little steep.
