Talking My '04 XLT SCrew

Hi Fellas,

I'm a brand spankin' new member to the forum. Have not been an F-150 owner in the past, but I am about to be in the very near future. Below is the scoop on my recently placed order...

2004 Ford F-150 Super Crew 4X4
Wedgewood Blue w/ lower silver two-tone
Captains chairs
Medium/Dark Two-tone interior
AM/FM Single CD/Cassette (Dual Media)
17" cast aluminum wheels
5.4L V8
P255 White lettered tires
3.55 Limited Slip Rear Axle
Platform Running Boards
Skid Plates
Power Moonroof
Rear Defroster
Keyless Entry
Heated outside mirrors
Dimming rearview mirror
Integrated mirror turn signals
Power driver seat
Rhino spray-on bedliner (Not included in below price)
No Dealer advertising emblem on back

ETA: September
MSRP: $37,755 (Approximately)
D Plan Pricing, which is the same as the A Plan: $31,021.00

With anticipated incentives out of the gate and the sale of my '98 Explorer, that should knock it down about another 7 or 8 grand.

Now I just have to freakin' wait what seems like forever.

Congrats on your new ride. And welcome to the forum. This place is great. I've learned everything about F150's on this site in the 3+ years I've been here.
Let us know when your new ride comes in. And make sure you take pictures. Lots of em.

My '04 XLT SCrew

Thanks! I've learned a lot since I've found this site. I was about to buy an '03 in June, until my friend convinced me to wait a couple months for the '04.

Actually the salesman at the GM dealer told me to look into it, because my father-in-law works at a Ford dealer. He said I would get a great deal. If I ever buy another GM car, for my wife, I'll probably go back to him. How often does a salesman tell a customer to check into another place at a rival company?

I had vowed to never buy a Ford again, because of all my issues with my Explorer. But after a lot of research on my part, Ford apparently lives off the F-150. And they need it bad. So I imagine they have put a lot of thought and elbow grease into this one. By the looks of things, I think I'm going to be pretty happy with my decision on waiting the extra couple months for the '04.

Hey, I had a 98 Explorer that was a POS too. However, I had a F-150 that was bought back as a lemon. The two I owned before that were good. Don't worry though, I bought a Tundra and it is not really that much better. I will be back to Ford someday. You'll get a good one and you made a great choice.

Interesting. I was looking at the Tundra too. That was originally what I wanted. Couldn't stop talking about it. But then I sat in it and was unimpressed. The back seat might as well have been non-existent. These days it appears to be a shot in the dark anyway with anything you buy. No matter what you read. I did a whole lot of research on a mid-size car for my wife a couple years ago. And for our price range at the time and what we were looking for, the Pontiac Grand Prix seemed to be the perfect fit. Then at 30,000 miles, the transmission went.

Here's a sample of what went wrong w/ my Explorer: Tires/alignment (All related to the big recall), Rear wiper motor (Twice), Radio went blank a couple months after purchase, 4WD switch, leaky rear window, poor paint (Dealer related), transmission fluid self-emptied onto the garage floor, brake light switch, air conditioner went ($600 to replace), parking brake cable, transfer case, etc., etc., etc..

I hope to God that nothing goes wrong with the new F-150. I don't really care if it goes while under warranty. But after is my main concern.

03 vs 04 S'Crew

Man, am I glad I bought my '03 S'Crew XLT. I got the 507a package, tube running boards, dual media stereo, sliding rear window/tinted windows, tow package, two-tone paint, 5.4L, auto, 3.55LS gears, 5 spoke alloy wheels/OWL tires and a bedliner for $23k( after rebates). Granted I don't have the moonroof and I purposely picked the 60/40 front seat to haul mor people)

I just can't imagine a new truck being worth $8k more.

Sorry, I hope you like it.....as I do agree it a good looking truck, but worth that much more ?....not for me

I'll wait a few years and get my rebates

Enjoy!

Well my Explorer is about to nickel and dime me the rest of the way now. So instead of spending it on that, I'll put it towards a new vehicle and seel the Explorer while it still has some value.
