Someone told that you can't get a Lariat FX4 like last year, that they're each they're own package, is this true?
I think I read somewhere that you can't mix the trim packages but I wasn't sure. Thanks

Yes it is true. FX4 used to be a package that you could add to any 4X4. Now it is it's own trim level like XLT or lariat. It comes with more than it used to but you may be giving up some things that you like on the other trims, especially the lariat. I wanted a lariat with the FX4 package but when I found out how it is now, I went with the lariat. Hope this helps.
You can no longer get a Lariat with the FX4 package since it is it's own trim level now. However, they are the same vehicle except the FX4 has a different interior. A Lariat 4x4 with skidplates is essentially a FX4 with a different interior. For the most part. There ain't much else.
Ye that is true. With the FX4 there is no heated seats and no message center with fuel mileage info etc... Also the rear seat in the FX4 w/Leather is actually vinyl, where as the Larait rear IS leather... (I read that in the ordering guid)
I thought I saw that even in the Lariat that the rear seat was actually "premium vinyl." I hope I am wrong.

Order sheet states that on "FX4" SC and SCrew with Leather fronts the rear seat will be vinyl. BTW that's the way it is in the three seat Explorer and it's really hard to tell the vinyl from the leather but, that is ONE of the reasons I didn't order my SCrew FX4 with leather. I probably would've ordered the Lariat if I could have got it without leather.
Just received the MSRP for the 04 FX4 SCrew I ordered a while back.. $39,135.. That's with every option except the leather and entertainment system.(DVD) That'e about what I had figured. Hope there will be some incentives to help on actual price paid. Expecting to pay around $34,500 without any rebates.I have bought quite often from this dealer and generally get a decent discount. BTW, all the discussion about X-plan, I've done alot of research on this and my experience is that the X-plan prices generally run anywhere from $50 under invoice to $50-$100 over invoice(depending on model and equipment). Doing your homework before making an offer can put you in this price range without X-plan.

Hey L squared, why is your MSRP so high? You didn't get two of the most expensive opt
I assume there are no Option "Packages" available? ie.. All Options are individually priced...???
Maybe we need to order the more expensive Options (such as, Leather Captains Chairs etc..) in order to get "Option Package Pricing"..??
