David your correct.

New vehicles package groups, which give you a lot more for less $......

Maybe I can get my new Supercrew drug through the garden for under $40k.

This thought makes freddy

Well seeing that I can get a X-Plan price, I'm hoping I can get a 2004 SuperCrew Lariat 4x4 LOADED for 32-35k.

That would make my day!

Geez, What was I thinking, I too am buying a new one for X plan.

A friend of mine works for Ford (Indy) and he has given me his info for this program. I think at this point they are offering friends and family members alike this program.

Anyone else have an opinion on this.

Thanks David, my truck (actually wife's) just got cheaper.

Ford has changed the way they calculate X-Plan pricing. You now get the vehicle for just about invoice. MAYBE $100 -> $200 less.

P.S. I get A-Plan, and I cannot even get close to a Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 Loaded for $32,000.00.

If I'm correctly informed.... the A-Plan (10-15% below MSRP) is used for family members. The X-Plan is 4% + $150 above the A-Plan price. Both are listed directly on the invoice and are pretty nice discounts, especially considering there's no haggling.

wingn8ive,

It used to be that way but, it has changed in the past year. On my wife's '02 Taurus, X-Plan was $4.00 above the invoice price. Since the dealer I deal with will give me invoice on anything, I took the invoice price and saved the PIN number.

P.S. Does anyone know what the $50.00 "Axle Ratio Upgrade" option is?

That sucks! What's the point of X-Plan then?

I can walk in off the street (sans X-Plan) and get the truck for 100 under invoice.

Thanks, Frank.... it's interesting. I guess I'll find out when I order mine tonight, or maybe when I receive it. I'll be using the A-Plan, so hopefully the savings will be very nice.....

AXLE RATIO UPGRADE: for example, the Lariat 4x2 comes with 3.55 non-limited slip... to change it to 3.55 limited slip, it's $285. The $50 upgrade would happen if you increased to 3.73 ratio.

I doubt you will be able to do this on a brand new model. And, not everyone has the negotiation skills to do this. THat is the benefit.

A-plan is 3.5-5.5% under invoice prices that I have calculated on KBB for every vehicle I have researched/bought. X-plan has always been around invoice.

I can get x-plan because of a friend, but it really is not even worth the hassle for me. My dealer will sell any vehicle to me for invoice, he even had the 03 cobra's for invoice when they first came out. But I guess there are dealers that want to soak people and haggle, etc. Even with the 04 150 being a brand new model, it's not like it is a limited production vehicle, aren't they slated to produce like 800k this year?
