As I posted in another thread, I checked out a $44K Armada the other day and was horrified at the overall cheapness of the interior. Flimsy and tacky with a nasty butterscotch color scheme were the highlights. The Titan, at $35K or so, is bound to be even worse. I now know what Nissan is attempting to overcompensate for by putting a gutsy motor under that hideous hood. We Ford guys may lose that drag race, but not our dignity.

I'm going to get me my Titan King Cab. Tow my boat and still smoke your ford.

btw~ i think it was really raw of Ford to lie about the capacity for towing saying it was 9500 and then to take it back and change it to 9900. to me that says Nissan has them scared and running.

Btw, who else has a storage compartment on the side? who else has Factory sprayed bedliners? who else has everyone else scared? NISSAN will rule the Big truck market, I intend to be the first to get mine in Kentucky.
you are sooo coool, I wanna be just like you . Nice fishing expedition you are on, I see some swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker, I had to spit it out... But just to be fun, when nissan makes BIG trucks like SD/HD's with a competitor to the PSD/DURAMAX/Cummins engines, I will say kudos to them, but until then I will be LMFAO

Don't get me wrong, I love ford and the F-150 but, COME ON. The Titan isn't even out yet and people are bashing it. Except for the butterscotch color scheme that nissan likes(yuck) from the pictures the Titans interior looks good. Who cares if their is a 400lbs towing difference between the max towing capacitys between the 2. If I was going to be towing the much I would get a used f-250/350 powerstroke. I have also heard the that 5.6 DOHC is almost has fast has the silverado SS

congrats on claiming your gonna be the first to own one in Kentucky..If theres any truck drivers in Kentucky with brains, then you might even be the ONLY one in Kentucky, are you going to put chicken wire in the grill and neon lights underneath it also? Maybe you could be in Fast and Furious Three.

What a pathetic attempt at flame baiting......

You really didn't come up with anything new here.....All the fanatic Nissan fanboys have spouted this nonsense already. As for Ford revising the towing capacity, did you notice it went up? Were you thinking they shouldn't tell everybody that the towing capacity was higher than initially advertised? Apparently you won't be smoking anybody with your pink truck.....

Yes, you will have the only full sized truck with a plastic cubby hole and a door that folds downward (nice engineering) to put your picnic basket in. Ford scared? The only thing I'm scared of is all your crap falling out of your rinky dink storage bin and dinging my Ford.

Yes you will also have a factory bedliner.........a ****ty one! I'm sure you'll be thrilled when you tear a big whole in it, and have to pay to have it pulled off and sprayed with LineX. Or maybe you won't, grocery bags probably aren't going to damage your liner. Have fun driving your pink Aztek, I mean Element, I mean Titan

The bedliner that is sprayed in on the Titan is only 1/16" to 1/8" thick. This usually means that even with the spray in, you will have to immediatly take it to a Line-X dealer and have a real spray in bedliner.

The pocket looks really stupid on the Titan. Plus...the first time you take it off road and twist the bed around it will come un done, hit a tree and that will be the end of the pocket door.

But the real kicker is....It is just d@mn ugly. I mean it just one seriously fugly truck. I agree the motor is quite intriguing, and has a lot of people talking, but the new Titan is kind of like a fat woman...They might be fun to ride, but you would not want your friends to see you with it.

I don't know about anyone else but i think Nissan's claim that they can tow 9500lb is bogus. You are dealing with alot of horsepower and torque, but it is being delivered through a 3.36:1 rear axle. Since DOHC engines, like the Nissan 5.6, traditionally need to rev high to get the power band, it seems to me that it would have some trouble with that kind of load.

Thats my $.02.

P.S. The Titan also the most ugly thing I have seen, just ahead of the chevy cliffdive (avalanche) and aztec.

I am an SAE member and I just got this email"

I may go and check it out if I have time. I'd like to pull up next to their demo truck in my 04 Scab and see what the hell they have to say. Unlike a lot of the Fordheads around here, I respect Nissan for giving it a shot. In a couple of years it may even be a good truck. But flaming people and talking about smoking someone in with a yet unproven truck is just foolish. why be loyal to a vehicle that has done nothing so far? i like Nissan cars, and I love Ford trucks. there's a reason the F-150 has 26 striaght years of being the #1 truck. Nissan didn't compete too well with the Frontier, but it was a decnt compact truck, but it remains to be proven if they can with Titan. publicity does not equal proof. but what good does it do to flame Ford owners on a Ford enthusiasts website? do you feel better about yourself? are you a bigger man now? don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out...

we can talk all the $h!t we want, but the trucks will prove which one, if any, is better.

Brewmaster is correct

I've owned a Nissan and it was a great truck. Very tough and never required service. I'd probably buy a Titan if a) it wasn't ugly as hell and b) I wasn't convinced that despite the HP differential, the F150 is a better truck. We've all seen what happened when Toytoa tried to enter the fullsize market (T100 and Tundra). They fell pretty flat and didn't make a ripple in the market. We'll see what Nissan can do. I think Thayer summed it up pretty well when he said:
....I believe Ford has already sold more 2004s than Nissan will build throughout the entire model year.
We'll see what impact if any the Titan has.

People keep talking about horse power difference like it some big deal. 5 HP...that it....thats kind of like finding a penny on the ground...you usually do not worry about it. The Nissan truck will probably blow the doors 0 - 60 off the F-150, but I did not buy the truck for 0 - 60. I want to be able to pull a boat out of the water with out choking. I want to have a truck that has proven it self over the last 50 some odd years. Sorry...but Nissan doesnt do it to me.
