Scab Back Seat

Those of you who have a Scab, is the back seat comfortable for adults for trips lasting more than a hour or so?
I have more use for a 6.5' bed than I do the crew cab, and I can't have both, so I have to compromise one way or another.

Thanks
Mark

i am 6'0" and about 220lbs. and I find the back seat very comfortable. leg room is obviously less, but it is comfortable. i see no problem with it. the 4 doors makes it easy to get in and out too.

Go for the 8'!

I agree, but I opted for the heavy payload package and got an 8' bed with my Scab. Somehow a 5.5' bed just doesn't seem very truck like at times.

Well, not everyone is excited about it as I am but I saw my first '04 today and it was a SCAB. Having been in both GM and Dodge as well as 97-03 Ford extended cab trucks, I must say that I am very impressed by the room in the back of the SCAB. The seat cushion itself must be several inches larger than the competitor and it is very comfortable considering its a SCAB.

Any other responses?

Thanks in advance,

At 6'4" and 225 lbs., I find the back seat very comfortable. The cushion is great, even on long trips and there is also quite a bit of legroom, especially for mine to only be a supercab. Also easy to get in with four doors. This is one awesome truck!

I may be wrong, someone correct me if so...

I think the seats in the Supercab and Supercrew are the same.

So, only leg room to be considered.

I am 5' 9" tall and can adjust the driver seat for me and still fit in the back.

I think the main thing you give up with Supercab is the ability for the backseat people to get in/out without the front being opened.

It is a little awkward geting in/out of the back when parked close to another vehicle.

JamesDC, I believe you are correct, the supercrew only adds I believe 6 inches of legroom. However, I am 6-4 and do not fit too comfortably in the back of my scab, but that is why I will be driving and not riding

Talking

Sounds like the formula is...

If FrontPerson + RearPerson <= 11'6" they will both be confortable

The rear seat on the new SuperCrew looks alot wimpier than the rear seat on my '01 SuperCrew. Junior (15) is getting bigger every day. Haven't yet put Junior in the back of the '04 to see what he thinks, but the new rear seat sure looks less comfortable and substantial than the old one.

Comments?

The rear leg room of a 04 Supercab is 32.7"
The rear leg room of a 04 Supercrew is 39"

The rear seat angle on a 04 SCab increased to 21 degress from the 03's 18 degrees.

The loaded SCab is about 2k less than a loaded SCrew give or take your options, plus the SCab is 2% cheaper to finance. But the SCrew is hot, tough to find FX4's and Lariats- better residuals.

So it comes down to what do YOU think is more important to you- saving money, rr legroom, cargo room...???
