Great job on the review. My thanks. Some questions:

- Did you talk to any other writers who had driven the new Titan yet? If so, what were there thoughts?
(I suspect you were to focused on this exciting new Ford to chat up the other writers.)

- Did anyone point out to Ford that such a deep box is a negative to most people. You have to be 6ft 5 to reach over on to the bed. I'll need a step ladder to get into a tool box! It may help capacity numbers and may work with the styling lines, but I thought the current truck was more than tall enough as is.

- Any talk of when the 3V 4.6L will arrive (I hear at least 2-3 yrs) and any guess as to what the HP will be?

- Ford talks of fuel mileage improvment over the 2v 5.4L. IS this still true with the increased weight of this truck, or is it a play on words...

- Any XLT's thre with the optional polished alum wheels? If so , how did they look?

- Did you hear the audiophil sound system? IF so, how did it sound?

Oh and thanks for the site too!!!

Ever since first seeing the Titan at the NAIAS in Detroit in January, the overwhelming majority of press folks I have spoken to have been very impressed by it, but none of them has had a chance to drive it. (disclaimer: we also own two Nissan's, a 2002 Altima SE and a 2003 Murano, so there may be some bias )

I did not mention it in my review, but a new feature included in the 2004 is a tailgate "assist" that will enable the tailgate to be opened and closed with little no physical effort. While it is not directly related to the field of vision issue, it is worth mentioning.

Sorry, no talk about this.

According to the F-150 Brand Manager, when I posed the question about EPA fuel estimates, he said that preliminarily the 2004 would have the same numbers as the 2003...

Off the top of my head, I don't really remember. You may want to follow a few of the links I provided to other reviews and you may spot the exact configuration you are looking for. They had a very good cross-section of models and trim levels to drive...

In all honesty, I don't know if it was the audiophile system, but on the second day someone left a Frank Sinatra CD in the truck we opted to drive. Sound quality was excellent, very good midrange, excellent imaging. The CD was the Atlantic Recordings, and while it was a well-produced album, it may not be the one to choose to evaluate an audio system.

Ford Believes in a high-butt huh?

Any higher, they'd need to put a ladder on the rear bumper.
Otherwise, me likey...

Wow, those trucks are nice.

I wish I could have been there in New Braunfels and Gruene that weekend. Instead, I was a weekend too early. Oh, well. It looks like you all had a good time. Did you eat at the Gristmill? They have some pretty good food. We had a deer come up to our table while we were eating dinner there last month. Pretty cool.

I didn't even know this site existed until I did a Google search. So, I'm a newbie here, but I'm not a newbie to Ford F-150 trucks. I have owned four of them so far (95, 97, 99, and 2001).

Hey, great review!! Thank you for that. I am in the process now of getting quotes from about 5 different dealers on a new 2004 F-150. Gonna trade in my current 2001 F-150 SuperCrew. Here's a pic of that...... catcha all later!!!
