For years before I bought my truck I have wondered if you could get a Lariat with cloth interior. I would have loved the Lariat goodies but cannot stand Leather.

Is this an option for the '04 Lariats?

I am not sold on the new F150's yet and am actually leaning toward an Expedition, but if I could get a Lariat SCrew with colth my mind could be changed.

 

I'm really not sure. You can only get the captains chairs in the FX4 and the Lariat, and both of those have leather. So as far as I know Lariat=Captains Chairs=leather. They don't have any in the brochure about getting Captains chairs with cloth. HOWEVER, Ford has the ability to do it, and a call to your dealer once the trucks come out will tell you what you want to know. I'd call em up and just say "I want the Lariat, and I want captains chairs, but I have to have cloth." They might be able to order it, but it may cost extra because it would be a custom thing since there aren't any cloth captains chairs. If you wanted a cloth bench seat, but a Lariat dash, that would be easier to assemble since the lariat dash already exists and so do the bench seats. Let us know what you decide.

 

On Ford's sight, it says the FX4 captain chairs can have either leather or cloth trim.

 

A leather bench seat with steering mounted shifter is standard on Lariat. If you choose captian's chairs, you get leather and floor shifter on Lariat. You can get cloth captains' chairs with XLT and FX4. You can also get leather captians chairs with floor shifter on FX4. The FX4 has a unique seat design ("Sport"). You cannot get Lariat w/o leather. Look to FX4 or XLT.

If you don't need any of those, you can pick up a nice XLT or FX4.

 

The problem is that I want almost all of those things ('ecpt heated seats), but without Leather.

Leather is too darn hot in FL.

Captains chairs do come in cloth as they are an XLT option. I had one dealer offer to order me a Lariat as I wanted and they would swap out the Leather seats for Cloth seats but refused to offer a price break... funny since you KNOW they would re-sell the leather they took out for a lot more than the cloth cost them.

 

Rear window defrost? Interesting.

 

If you can get the FX4 seats in cloth then I will bet you can get the Lariat with cloth seats. They'd just do it in a different cloth color to match. As long as they are doing something on one trim level, you can special order to put it on others.

Not according to the order guide.

If a dealer is willng to swap out the seats for you, that's probabyl the only way to get exactly what you want.

Rockpick, rear window defrost is standard on the 2003 Lariat Supercrew and I think King Ranch too. If you choose the power slider, you do not get rear defrost.

In my experience, the rear window doesn't get very frosty and the A/C does a fine job of defogging. I had the slider in my 99 extened cab and power slider in my 03 Supercrew.

About a year ago, I went to my dealer asking around about buying an 03 Lariat FX4. I too wanted all the goodies but not leather. Directly from the sales manager, Lariat=Leather. I didnt understand why they couldnt just swap seats, but it was a nogo. The new FX4 though, leather is an option.

 

It sucks that youll have to pay for it, but find someone that day thats buying a trim similar to yours but an xlt, then just say hey, for a hundred bucks you can have my seat or something to that extent. Any sane person would take it. Yeah youll suffer a loss which sux, but you'll get what you like. Also i've seen leather seats sell pretty high on ebay, im sure someone would be willing to buy it. I know it sucks you can't get it from ford, but you can get it.

RP, you have a lot of experience with Rear windows.. how hard would this be?

My rear window fogs up all the time when its hot and rainy out and I have the AC on (this happens a lot in FL).
