Paying MSRP

With Ford's sales lagging and their need to make money, you can bet that they will be doing whatever they can to sell the 1 million vehicles a year that they stated that they want to sell. Ford is counting on the F series to bring up the bottom line. Also, from what I read these trucks are going to be priced higher because they are more expensive to produce. So, incentives will be a must. I'm probably going to be trading in my 2000 Lariat Supercab for the 04 Lariat SuperCrew, but not before I get a deal.

UPDATE!

Though I felt pretty satisfied with my 3% over invoice deal, my dealer said that if I could find someone to hook me up with a pin number for x-plan, that it would save me alot of money. I was able to find an officer at work who's wife could get me a pin number! So, I guess it just keeps getting better, and the waiting just keeps getting harder.

You are a smart one bigsherm, and you play the game well.

Remember one thing, since you got the advise here that saved you hundreds of dollars you owe us big time.

For your ransom to be paid in full you will be required to report back to us when you get the new truck and tell us, in detail, about the ride.

The 04 is nice, but I agree with above that I wouldn't pay MSRP. Dealing is real easy as long as you are genuinely willing to walk away... many folks get set on a truck/car and the salesman can read that. You must remain ready to walk away!

I paid almost $9K under full sticker for my truck... deals are out there is you shop for a good dealer.

X-Plan is nice to have, but negotiate a deal BEFORE you whip out the PIN to see how much you really save.

As much as I like my truck, I don't think the 05 or 06 F150 will be muy next vehicle... Expedition is on my menu.

Help!!

Hey guys, I need a little help. Currently I'm on sun tanning in the sands of, well Iraq. Now, when I get back if not before then, I want to start working on getting an 04 super crew 2X4 with the 4.6. I'm out of Fort Bragg and will be going to MD for awhile after I get back (late July-Mid AUG) so what is the MSRP or where could I find it? What's with this "x" plan? I'm not familiar with that either.
Thanks in advance!
Doug

MSRP, your guess is as good as anyone else's since Ford has not released them yet. Your best bet is to price up a 2003 on Fords website and assume it to be about $1500 more (I have heard people say as much as $4000 more but I don't think that is resonable.) X plan is a discounted price set by Ford Motor Company for the friends and family of its employees and the employees of Fords other companies (i.e. hertz rental). If you can find someone who works for Ford or its affiliates, ask them about X plan. They may be able to get you a PIN number and possible a better deal without haggling. Also, pay attention to the info on this website, as you can see from this thread, the people on here were able to point me towards a much better price than I started at.

Stay safe in Iraq!

Doug,
First off thanks for being out there. Just heard more "talk" from my dealer that all info should be out in the next two weeks. As soon as I hear something this is the first place Ill go. Keep checking back.
