i think it looks pretty good except for the following...
1. don't like clunky looking exterior door handles...and they are black plastic on all trucks..not painted. same for mirrors...no longer painted.
2. no door entry keypad from what i can tell...
3. rear seatbelts appear to be no longer height adjustable...
4. one of the dash colour combos is ugly...check this out!!

Nice looking truck, but I'm happy with the '03 Screw I bought three weeks ago.
I wonder what the new model will cost....I'm afraid to ask. My '03 is the best deal I've ever made by a long shot.
I bought a 1999 Suburban new and didn't know that they'd be changing the body style in 2000. I was p@ssed when I saw they were the same price as the 99's, and in some cases even less when Chevy ran an incentive program for about a month. Funny thing though.....after moping around for about 2 years thinking I got screwed, I rode in one about a year later and was glad I bought the '99. Plus, I have the vernerable 350 under the hood, not the 5.3L.

Well, I can't really say anything good about the looks of it, so I won't say anything at all.......except I hope it grows on me. I hated the present body style when it changed in '97, but I slowly grew to like it alot. Although I now think the F-150's look great, I still prefer the outer style of the '92-'96, but the interiors are waaayyy better on the '97-'03's.
BTW...the '04 door handles look to me like the cheap plastic ones on the chevies. ""no painted mirrors?!?!?!?"" damn! (OK, so I did say somehting about it after all. Couldn't help myself
)

Not bad ,but did'nt really knock me off my chair either.
The dash has a very un-truck like look to it
I am dissappointed in the front end though,to much like Expy .
Does'nt look very aggressive either. I am sure it will grow on me once I see them in person & see a few around that are tricked out a bit.
I still would'nt want one the first year out. Maybe 05

If I remember correctly the current body style didn't have the color keyed mirrors and door handles at first and is still an option on some. Again I'm not positive on that.
I think that Ford is going to cut a few corners for 2 reasons on the first go around.
1. Cost savings, they have to offset some cost on changing there assembly line/parts inventory
2. There has to be some upgrading every year, need that marketing room to breath in. "New for 2005, color coded mirrors!"

After mulling over all the info in the last couple days I feel I'm on information overload. Living near Detroit that is all we've had in the news here too.
A few thoughts on the "new" F150. It looks good. I like the the looks of the straighter lines I think. I'm sure it will grow on me. In some of the shots it looks a lot like a SD, and in some others it looks like an Expy. Maybe that is the way they designed it. It should be a lot tougher, with more payload, more towing, etc, etc, etc,
The Ford site lists most options available on the XL, XLT, and Lariet. THings like door keypad, etc are still there.
I've seen about 4 different grill designs in all the pictures, some I like, and some I hate. I'm not very fond of the console floor shofter either .....yuck!!
I like the idea of a larger reg cab, but I wonder how the hard core reg cab drivers will accept it. Wonder how much more money they will be forced to spend. More room in all the cabs is nice. The trucks definatly are not getting any smaller.
I think after the first years you'll see a lot of suttle refinements like you did in the 99, 2000, 2002 of the current models. I've owned a 97, 2000, and a 2002. My current 2002 is the best of the bunch.
Things I'd like to see but didnt see or hear mentioned. A diesel engine. More gear ratio choices. Remote start option with the factory security system.
I think it'll sell well, not sure if it will sell like Ford wants it too. I'd like to get one. I'm glad I just got my 2002, I think it would be better to wait a couple years on this one.

The Wall St. Journal had a front page article on the new F150 yesterday, sorry, don't have a link. It said the truck will cost Ford about $1000 more to make, so if you like the looks of the '03 you'll probably get a better deal buying now rather than waiting.
Also said that Ford has found that 80% of their truck buyers don't use it as a truck and so the emphasis is on comfort, ride, passenger appeal. I don't think the similarity to the new Expeditions is coincidental, looks like they want you to think of the 150 as an Expedition with cargo space instead of seats.
