My old 2002 5.4 with a superchips tune feels just as strong as the new trucks in normal driving around town. In fact I think it would be close in a 60mph drag race and may even be ahead up to 30 or so. The superchips made a big difference. My old truck is lighter and the old engine is tuned for low end torque. I drove a new 5.0 rental truck last July when my son came to visit so I got to compare a little. I'm sure the new trucks would blow the doors off my old truck while passing on the interstate.

Good luck with it

I'll never own any dodge again. Their computers like to **** the bed and make the vehicle shut off on the freeway. Almost killed my in-laws. Makes 6 dodges in my immediate family that had computer problems.

Congrats. Looks great!

I was really considering a 2020-21 RAM Rebel before I ended up getting my 2023 F150 Reg Cab FP700. I never really considered buying a Dodge/RAM before and have always drove Ford/GM trucks with a 95 4Runner sprinkled in. My very first truck was a 89 RAM 50 4X4. It was a good little truck but didnt last very long in the hands of an inexperienced 16y/o driver. It was essentially a rebranded Mitsubishi. When I was doing research on buying a truck I was seeing good things being said about some of the newer RAM trucks. It seemed like they were very good "bang for the buck" so to speak. But then I discovered the FP700 package and I had to try to get one. It was really at the top end of my budget and I wasnt sure if it was going to work out. Thankfully I found a dealer that wasnt too far from me that was able to make it happen. If it had not worked out I would have most likely went with a RAM. I was also looking at the Trailboss and AT4k initially but was more impressed with what RAM offered for the same price range.

EDIT:

I also have a 2015 2wd crew cab 2.7 ecoboost. I kept it as a work truck. It has 200K on the odo. Ive taken really good care of it. Always used premium fuel, coolant flushes, and regular drivetrain preventative maintenance. Its still running strong. Although there have been some other areas of the truck that have not treated me so well. But the Engine/Drivetrain has been rock solid so far. It has the 6spd trans and i really like it (aside from the 3rd to 4th shift). The 10spd trans definitely takes some getting used to.

Used to HATE Daytime Running Lights. Now, I run lows and fogs 24/7... And 4-ways backing up. Drivers pay NO attn. I ride too.

I heve a 2017 Platinum Screw, FX4. Ford put the 6 speeds in the 5.0 in 2017. They put the 10 speeds in the 3.5s in 2017 and then all F150s in 2018. 2017 5.0 was the last of the 6 speeds.

I have 65K on mine, no oil use, no issues as of today. (hope it's not the kiss of death to talk about it.......)

Hmmm... Which S-Chips?

But you'd rather tow with a.stock 150 than with the quicker Harley, which is sorta, half car in a truck's dress. Did like the 3/4 race NV Police Interceptor (at a Detroit estimated 375-380 HP,) but it was in cars, or in a pickup not tuned or meant to tow.

I'm happy to have a front door when I exceed, well,.let's not say... ;>)
