2000 F-150 Electrical Anomalies

Strange electrical issues that I’ve hade enough of. About 5 years ago my dash light that lights up odometer started going in and out. A few months ago my compass/thermometer seemingly went out but when I tap it it will come back on, my auto headlights blows fuses, my auto down driver side window no longer will auto down.

not sure where to start my troubleshooting. Thoughts?

Check interior fuse panel. Look for corrosion damage from water. Window leaks in that area are not uncommon.

Also check your grounds. All of them. That include ground straps. A DMM is your best friend in continuity and DC voltage mode.

You have multiple issues, probably unrelated.

1. Odometer blackout issue. Common. Google it.
2. Intermittent connection. Inspect. Resolder as needed.
3. Short circuit in headlight circuit. Need more specifics.
4. Either switch has failed or there is a GEM problem.

I'm not seeing any issues that suggest a problem with your ground integrity (except for that short circuit to ground issue).
