Rear window leak_any reason not to different sealant
Rear window leak_any reason not to different sealant
The way Ford designed rear windows in '97 - '03 had some good ideas and some maybe intended to generate cash flow.
Is there any valid reason not to use something besides "butyl rope" sealant? Butyl in string form may be handy & easier for some to use.
"The best" or "lifetime sealant," butyl is not.
Butyl wouldn't be my 1st choice for this . The "Longest lasting," or "best sealing" available today? No.
"Brands / mfgs" of various high-performance sealants sometimes makes a world of difference. Not all brands of same type sealant are created =.
It'll cost more to hire it done, due to the fiberglass camper. Though it's quick to loosen & slide back (for able bodied men / women).
Unless I carry the sealant to them, shops could use something that may last 5 - 7 yrs.
Thanks.
