Electrical Problem

A few Months ago I bought a 1998 Ford F-150 4.6l Supercab XLT 4x4. I've been trying to get the Instrument Cluster Gauges to work and have had no luck. The Speedometer, Odometer, Tachometer, Gas Gauge, Oil Pressure, Temperature, Battery Gauge do not work. The ABS,Door Ajar, Seatbelt, 4x4, Check Engine, and Battery warning lights work. The turn signal lights and High beam lights work on the cluster. I've checked fuses #2,#19,#29 and they all are good. I've check the three cables in the back of the cluster and they are good and weren't loose. I've got a new battery hooked up good and tight. I believe the ground in both kick panels is good, I tested them with a multimeter. I don't know what to do, I believe the problem lies with the wiring in the dash. There was newspaper and rat dropping in the dash, when I was trying to fix another problem. I was hoping someone could give me some help and the wiring diagram for the truck. I need the wiring diagram for the instrument cluster and the power distribution box. Here are some pictures of the cluster I'm working with

So, has the cluster ever worked properly ? Generally these aren't home repairable.

If you suspect the wiring in the dash then you would need to check the connector for signals and ground. Not sure where to find specs for that. If the connector checks out OK, then it's the cluster. It can be sent out for repairs or a replacement.

The Cluster hasn't worked properly since, I have owned it. I guess my next step is to check the connectors.

I'm really leaning towards the rat or mouse chewing the wires from the infestation.

Have you checked for a rodent infestation elsewhere on the truck?
