Fuel pressure problem??

So I having what I think is a fuel problem. Start up and will drive for a while then after a bit it will pretty much almost stall out. If you hit the gas nothing. Wait a few second and ease into the pedal if will have some power but not much. I checked fuel pressure at the rail. Have 30 psi and 40 when I disconnected the vacuum line. It seems a bit low to me.

oh yeah with truck off for 5 minutes it’s still holding 30psi

Do you think the pump and regulator are ok? Or anything else I check. I’m stumped!!

2001 F150 5.4 Supercew 4x4.

As always. Thanks Marty

I'd replace the fuel filter.

That pressure coincides with what mine has read every time I've checked it on my 2002 5.4. Put a couple of bottles of Chevron Techron in the gas.

If it stalls out while the pressure stays at 30+ psi, fuel delivery isn't the problem.

All of your fuel pressure readings look normal.

It might be an air problem. Check the idle air control valve. Or it could be a sensor problem but those normally throw a code.

Otherwise, you may need to get some better diagnostics. If you don't have the equipment then it may be necessary to pay someone run a diagnostic.
