97 F150 4.6L: Dumb question about radiator cap
Dumb, as in, where the heck is it? I've got a 97 F150XLT with the 4.6 V8....I know where the reservoir filler cap is, but I got one of those head gasket leak detectors, and it says to use the radiator cap (which take to mean the actual radiator cap and not the reservoir one).
In the F150 manual, a diagram shows the radiator cap just ahead of the air cleaner, but there's really nothing there. Is the cap underneath the big plastic piece that covers the radiator? Does that need to be removed?
Anyone know if I can just run the leak check using the reservoir filler cap instead?
Thanks!

maybe you should let someone else run the leak check
Why would I need to do that? Seems pretty simple to do if it can be done on the coolant reservoir filler.

99% of the forums you’ll go on will have people checking your grammar, and in general being blatant egotistical douches. Just wanted to say this for some reason… I’ve gotten to figure this out throughout the years. Not calling anyone out in particular but it’s just the pattern of behavior on forums I guess.
