It was raining and I heard my horn on my f150 going off intermittently and my radio and parking light were coming off and on. The next day I tried starting and nothing i put a charger on the battery for a full charge. when i tried to start i heard clicking, i cleaned my cables +,- and check voltage to solenoid on firewall 12.85v I checked the starter, 12.85v to there. I checked grounds with test light and for continuity all good. I was going to check my conections at the starter solenoid on the firewall and it broke so i replaced it. I pulled starter to test at Orielleys auto and they replaced it. So new starter, new Solenoid no engine cranking. I connected a test light to the wire from ignition to solenoid and it lights up whenI turn the key. I checked all fuses with test light and pulled to inspect them. they are all good. Everything went haywire when it started raining. I noticed that my dash was wet on the drivers side. Any suggestions?
well this morning I went out to see if the truck will start. when I turned the key it just clicked. I also noticed that i dont have any instrument guages functioning. The only thing that I see is my battery light. Everything else in the truck works. The other thing is I pulled ofthe interior fuse box cover and noticed that when I turn the key, the bottom left 5-pin relay clicks along with the firewall mounted solenoid, I pulled out the relay and noticed it felt warm. I guess this is an accessory delay realy. What does this control?
One other thing I think I will do is check my draw down when I turn the key and then start on the interior fusebox removal to check the GEM module. "F!!!"
just an update..I replaced the cable from the starter to the battery (+) and the truck fired up. i moved it under a carport so i can reseal the windshield. Can I use just regular silicone??
I still dont have instrument gauges. But my tachometer moved up for a few seconds and the quit working.
ok dang it... Theft light blinking.. no crank.. horn honking makes a hell of a racket...
I tried starting the truck and the hornstarted honking and lights started blinking. the truck has parked out of the weather since my post on the 31st. It wuold startup but id didnt drive it becasue nothing on the insrument cluster was working.
Fourdays ago I tried starting it and thats when it would not crank and horn went crazy and theft light blinking...
GLC...is this related to the GEM also? I havent pulled it yet but imm getting pretty dang close.
i pulled the GEM module. It looks like water has been there. One spade had some rust on it There appeared to be some evidence of water.. I ordered a used GEM module from a salvage yard ($70) but am wondering if i shpuld takethe whole fuseblock also since that spade went into the fuseblock. its all circuitboards. smh. a new module is gonna run $185.
i was wondering if anyone can give me a diagram for this little fuse block withthe relays. i did replace them GEM module i have all guages working again and the truck started up but i shut it off and now getting antitheft light andhornhonling again. I turn the key to start and jump the solenoid and the truck will start. but after a few minutes the horn honks and lights start blinking. I put a test light onto the ignition wire to solenoid on firewall and i turn the key but no light. I replaced the ignition switch under the column but nothing still? ive been looking at fuses and relays but i have no description of pictured relays on the ;ittle fuseblock under the hood...

Reason: need to add some info
That's the grafted-on relay box that Ford added for the "factory" tow package.
I took a photo of my old 97's box a long time ago, mapped out what each relay does, and it was posted on one of these forums. Don't recall which one. If I run across it, I'll post or link to it.

I noticed that also. the reason i was needing the diagram is because when the theft light is blinking and the headlight blinking and the horn horn honking one of those relays is clicking...I cant figure this theft system...
I hate to state the obvious, but be damned sure you get the windshield leak fixed before you do the electrical stuff, or it will happen all over again.
