OEM Gas Tanks and Sizes....

(1999 v6 f150 step-side)what’s the biggest gallon oem gas tank that will fit with no modification? I’m looking for a bigger tank.

From your owners manual:

Fuel tank

4x4 Reg. Cab short wheelbase 92.7L (24.5 gallons)
4x2 Regular Cab and all SuperCab short wheelbase 94.6L (25.0 gallons)
Long Wheelbase 113.6L (30.0 gallons)

Probably not. If you had a long wheelbase it would have come with the 30 gallon tank.

24.5 gallon - 49" long
25 gallon - 57" long
30 gallon - 66" long

Are you just lazy to fill it up? Or trying to go on some extended road trip?

Adding more weight will reduce mileage...

If you must, get a transfer tank and put it in the bed and fill yourself up...

I would assume nothing bigger will fit, because Transfer Flow (a forum sponsor) does not list a replacement tank for your truck, just in-bed transfer tanks. They are $1500.

Jimbo, I assume that was a response to your somewhat rude comment.

That is why I asked why are you trying to put a bigger tank? And gave helpful info to put a transfer tank. Unless your truck already is the configuration of the one that has the larger tank, a larger probably won't fit due to where they are mounted on these trucks. They are tucked into areas where there isn't extra room.

People get so butthurt these days.... jeez
