Blower motor resistor

This is the old resistor. I have nothing

This is the hole where the old resistor was removed from. Nothing to plug the new resistor into.

Ok, my fan only works on the higher speeds. I took out the blower motor resistor and it was a rusty mess. I went to plug in the new part, but there wasn’t anything there to plug it into...it was just an empty hole. I couldn’t feel any wires or see any wires. I took a coat hanger, bent the end, and tried to hook something. No luck. What’s up? Should I now remove the blower motor itself in hopes of finding the connector?

You have to be kidding us!
The plugup is on the outside NOT the inside.
It's put there to keep cool from the airflow in the duct work otherwise they would burn in short order from over heating and melt the outside connector.
Look at the terminals on the resistor side.
There was never any plugin connections to them.

What year truck is that out of? All of the resistors that I've seen in the last 12 years or so are just a small card mounted on the flange. No coils of wire and thermal limiter switch (the cylinder). Show us a photo of the OTHER side of the object in the first photo. The plug for the connector should be there. The side that you show goes into the air duct so that the air conditioned air blows over it to help keep it cool.
