1997 f150 winsheild wiper cycles once

1997 f150 winsheild wiper cycles once

Just got a 97 f150,if I turn the wipers on while the truck is running nothing happens,if I turn them on before I start the truck they will cycle once then do nothing. I repaced the turn handle switch and no differance,any ideas

Have you checked the relay and the GEM?

No I havent what is the best way to go about checking those

Relays can be swapped with a known good relay.

Thanks for the advice I think it is the gem its got a couple burt looking spots on it,you know of anyone trying to seal those with a silicone or do they need to breath to not overheat

Burnt spots? It sounds like it needs to be replaced.

I'd replace it, and make sure the fusees are the correct amperage for each location!

If you don't know what the fuse amperage is, consult your owners manual. Go through each position one-by-one.
