need help with broke heater hose (edit 12-27-18)
2002 f150 V4.6
the line that runs from the motor and to the inside nipple / port has broken off. the plastic piece of the hose is still attached to the nipple/port. is there an easy way to remove this piece?
I got the replacement line from Oreillys today, but I noticed the recommendations on the board say to get a Ford line. is that true?
thanks for the help

At the heater nipples, they have a ridge about a quarter inch back from the end.
This ridge seals the hose by the uses of a special clip assembly. This is a fast way to get the hoses connected on the assembly line.
Take a good look at the situation to see what you have. There should be a removable clip/clamp on the original hose connector.
Don't just take a chisel and hammer approach to this.
Take care about being rough with the nipples because if you break one and cause a leak, it becomes a big job to replace the heater core.
Pay attention first to what you have to work with.
I blew a hose and learned what was their and how it attaches.
Good luck..
