eBay is your best source for this stuff.

do you happen to have that link handy? I did do a search before posting my this thread, found a lot of dead links from decade old threads...

as for ebay, lots of print manuals, the only digital one I found was from carguy, and was a DVD format

I tried downloading it, and just get a huge mess of html files, not sure I am doing it right

 

It's a zip file. When you unzip it, there are a bunch of folders and subfolders, inside them will be PDF's. It's not easy to use at all, but for free I don't think you will be able to do much better.

You can find old official Ford DVD's on Ebay.

well, after messing with it, they do seem to open up pdf files, but they launch through my google chrome as a html... so not sure what that is about, but I think it works
