Brake issues

Hello guys new to the forum. I recently purchased a 2000 Stepside 4x4 4.6 V8. I got a really good deal on the truck but the truck was neglected and I plan to bring her back up. It needs a front and rear brake overhaul for one. However, one thing puzzles me. When I'm coming to a stop the brake pedal almost goes to the floor indicating low fluid, a leak or air in lines. But there is a plasticky click/grind coming from it seems the brake pedal and you can kind of feel it in the pedal as well. Any thoughts?

I would check the booster and master cylinder linkages.

I recently overhauled the brake system on my Jeep Compass 07, and boy what a difference! Feels better than new. (New hoses, calipers, pads, rotors, power flush, etc).

Having a good/reliable working brakes is the most overlooked item on a vehicle.
